That meeting will be a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.Did anyone see the photo of the PABA board in Sunday's PDN? What a bunch of waxworks, fossils and dead-enders.

No KIDDING! I saw that photo!

And, what is Russ Vee doing on the PABA Board now? What is the point of having a Chamber, AND a business assoc, if their membership and Board members are all the same folks?

Oh, and speaking of questionable associations.. did you see the clip in the PDN a day or so ago that had a passing reference to a Board our city manager is a member of? (This is a test!) Wow!

And I thought this city council wanted to eliminate public perceptions of back room dealings by city officials. Guess things don't change.

Or, will this council have the guts to make REAL policy concerning such things?

PABA is a joke. A sad, old, tired, useless joke. If you need an association for businesses, there's the Chamber (such as it is). If you need a group devoted to the downtown core, there's the PADA (such as it is).

If, however, you need a group specifically to prop up Andrew May's fragile ego, and give the most backwards of the throwbacks something to do - well, there's the PABA.

And the punchline to this ineffectual and pointless group is that they meet EVERY SINGLE WEEK. "So many meetings! So much time wasted! So little to show for it! Join PABA today!"

Anyone want to bet that all his "community work" and appointments to various boards are a prelude to Kaj running for City Council?

So...Watcher...do you do anything useful for our community??
Or do you just trash everyone else?

The Watcher does vastly more for the community than you do Sally/Rex/Linda/whoever-you-are-today. And as for trashing people, there's a kettle that would like to have a few words you.

"LMAO!"

Yes, they love to stick their noses into everything and try to have control over all things.

I think that back when I was a member I was an embarrassment to them. Driving there in my old station wagon or on a bike while they showed up in fancy cars and SUV's to be big shits.

Jackson being excluded from my comment of course, not much fancy about his rigs or how he lives, I'll hand him that.

You must be talking about Port Angeles City Manager Kent Myers being on the board of directors for the K.O. Erickson building, where Gottschalks used to be.

Maybe he is on Rayonier's board, too? What is the difference.

I don't get the stupid fish wrap, what did it say? (They only put a few, stupid articles online....because they are boneheads.) So, what did the puppy training pad say?

It was just an announcement in the Sunday business section of the PDN. No other details besides the time and place of the meeting and the guest speakers.

Does it occur to you that the people who care about the community enough to be in these groups largely have to be retired to have the time- hence the "old boys" network?
I see nothing to be gained by being snarky at people who are trying to make this place better.
The best way to change an "old boys" network is to join it and change it from within Whiner, uh, I mean Watcher and Ennui, uh I mean Anonymous.
