Navy Delayed in Plans for Electronic Warfare Testing on Olympic Peninsula

The People Have Spoken. After being deluged with public comments on their plan to zap Olympic National Park and the Olympic Peninsula, the Navy has delayed its target date from September 2015 to early 2016.

The U.S. Forest Service will be hiring a third-party contractor [and who might that be?] to help them process the 3,134 comments.

I think people need to do a lot more than sit home, and think that on-line petitions and such will stop this big machine.

Well I see Port Angeles is about to get a new business. A sports bar! They certainly spent a lot of money on it! We have people without homes people suffering with addiction and our children are growing up without hope and all this town can do is create a place for neanterthals to get drunk and watch grown men play silly games. Shame on Port Angeles! Shame shame shame!!

@ Anon 11:04

It will be interesting to watch the police blotter.

I have no doubt the bar will be very successful, and further draw business away from the already almost vacant downtown. The owners must be so community minded. Bravo!

Anon 11:04 - get a life

Go PA, screw the homeless, addicted, and hopeless. PA needs a good bar.

I'm not sure we needed a new bar, but it's improved that vacant eyesore of a building.

Anon 5:48 Still sounds like the Revitalize Port Angeles group. They only care about themselves, too.

If you say things they don't want to hear, like, that aren't cheerleader rah-rah chants, and try to point out the problems in Port Angeles, they kick you out of the group.

They blame the homeless and downtrodden for their own lack of success. If you don't buy from their stores, then, you are the problem, too.

Everything else is the problem, but what they do.

Now, that new sports bar won't be a problem, because it is being built by a member of Revitalize Port Angeles. Even though it will draw all those people away from the down town.

See? They aren't doing anything wrong, that will make the downtown even more of a ghost town. Because they aren't the problem. It is the homeless, hopeless and addicted that are the downtown merchants real problem.

Right.
