Inflatable “Bubble” Field House for Port Angeles
A “bubble” field house (not to be confused with the Bubble Boy) has been awarded to the Clallam County YMCA. People will be able to play soccer and tennis indoors year-around regardless of the weather.
This is nice, but should this be a top priority for Port Angeles? In today’s PDN, a letter to the editor reminds us that Port Angeles voters shot down the high-tech bells-and-whistles YMCA pool, and that the city already has enough trouble maintaining the William Shore Memorial Pool.
The Port Angeles City Council has already voted unanimously in favor of this project. But three of those council members are no longer on the City Council. How will their replacements vote?
Should the public have a say in all of this? What do you think?

Why would the public have a say? We didn't have a say about the crappy "gateway project". No one cares what we have to say.
This will just happen, and we'll end up paying with "greater assessed value" of property (not that home values have done anything but DROP in the last two years....). We'll get taxed, the city workers will get their cost of living increases, the city manager will get his pay increase, and the rest of us will be struggling to keep up.
Oh yeah, great. We have a bubble now....great. Sort of like your kid getting a FREE pony. Oh great, so guess who gets to take care of it?
Oh la de dah. Now the bourgeois tennis dandies can go prance around in their white shorts while the rest of us trudge around in the rain. Lets go eat cake!
At last our city leaders will now have something more full of hot air than to relate to.
I, for one, welcome our new bubble overlord.
If I get a free pony, yall are invited to the free(1)(2) barbeque!
(1)bring your own refreshments
(2)guberment employees not welcome.
Effigies of the city council memebers will be burned at the fountain tomorrow afternoon. We will then storm city hall and declare Port Angeles a People's Republic. Please bring your pitchforks!
could you wait to storm the city hall until AFTER the cold/wet weather abates some? And, Sunday for a takeover..
why wait? It will be fun to watch the council hold a meeting, tarred and feathered, shivering outside in the cold.
