Tumwater Truck Route Closing. Again.

The Tumwater Truck Route will be closed Wednesday through Friday of this week. It'll be closed again from December 3rd through the 7th.

Front, First and Lincoln Streets will be open and more crowded than ever.

The two Eighth Street Bridges are supposed to be open on November 1st, 2008. The bridges are supposed to have bike lanes and sidewalks, which will be an improvement over the old bridges.

Remember as you are driving through our fair downtown, mothers with strollers, old people using walkers and teenagers on skateboards* are double points.

*Triple points if they also have a can of spray paint.

It's become a real adventure getting across town. Too much construction, too many delays, and now that they've decided the weather's too awful for them to work in, why don't they re-open the Tumwater Truck Route while they can? I think our local excuse for a newspaper "reported" that that was planned. Who knows?

I offer the "Should've Drowned When You Were a Pup" Award to whoever decided ALL these projects should be done at once.

I second the previous comment. Several major downtown construction projects all going on at once? Hello???

I've never personally known anyone ditzy enough to schedule a doctor's appointment, a lunch date with a friend and a car tune-up all at the exact same time on the same day. I mean, uh, dingdingdingdingding Helloo!!!! Not Complicated!

And yet our "elected" "leaders" schedule several long-pending downtown construction projects to occur all at the same time. F###### Brilliant!

Have any Port Angeles VIPs tried to actually drive from Point A to Point B in the last few weeks? Didn't think so!
