Ex-Governor Locke: Local Boy Makes Good

Well, he hasn’t made it yet, but former Governor Gary Locke might be the Obama Administration’s Secretary of Commerce.

And there’s a theory — whether it holds any water or not — that this could give Port Angeles an edge over the competition for attracting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The NOAA is moving from its current Seattle location in 2012, and Port Angeles is a contender.

The Port of Port Angeles is hoping the NOAA will relocate to Terminal 3 in Port Angeles.

I'm waiting for Billy to weigh in before I comment.

I'm not Billy but we could sure use the NOAA here in Port Angeles. If P.A. gets an unfair advantage because a former WA governor is in charge of the commerce department, that's life.

It was certainly refreshing to see an artist profiled in yesterday's paper whose initials are not "B.S."

Why would this give Port Angeles an advantage over any other Washington city vying for it? Which I believe includes Bellingham and Newport?

I think Locke might have some sort of connection to Port Angeles. Golden Gate, that Chinese restaurant on Front Street, is affiliated with him in some way. That's what I've heard anyway.

Looks like Locke got picked. As long as he paid his taxes and didn't hire any illegal aliens.

Don't eat at Golden Gate unless you want food poisoning!

I question how much it will help the current 10.9 percent unemployment rate. Like I said in an earlier comment in a past post, they are just looking for cheaper rent.

We need a frickin STEAK HOUSE!

Buy a fucking frying pan and learn how to cook. :-)

Well isn't this a lovely snowfall. Pain in the butt to deal with but on the positive side it helps keep the body shops employed being as so many of these monkeys are so careless when driving on it.

I watched RELIGIOUS with Bill Maher last evening. Good documentary, if you haven't seen it I recommend it.

I'll walk to Star Video to return it today, I'm not getting my truck on the streets for those monkeys to use for a target, ha ha ha.

Isn't that racist to tie Locke to a Chinese restaurant?
