New “Welcome” Sign for Port Angeles
A new “Welcome” sign will be unveiled this Friday. The sign will be at the corner of Laurel Street and Railroad Avenue, on the wall of a warehouse owned by Black Ball Transport Inc., which operates the M.V. Coho.
The sign will be showing art work from an 1865 map of Port Angeles. The sign was created by Jackson Smart of Jackson's Sign Art Studio. It’s 8 feet tall and 16 feet wide, and shows a view of the harbor, Ediz Hook and a 19th century ship.
There’ll be an unveiling ceremony on Friday at 4 p.m. featuring coffee and refreshments. The ceremony is being organized by Edna Petersen and Rian Anderson, Port Angeles district manager for Black Ball Ferry Line.

Significantly, Mr. Harper leaves Edna Peterson out of the tag line. Biased much?
Nevertheless, those who know and appreciate Edna will know that she is always the first to help our community and has the best ideas, the vision and leadership that we so sorely need. She took the lead in sprucing up our little downtown and now she graciously welcomes visitors with this beautiful sign.
While the chattering children talk of "changes" and gather in secretive cabals to have "theatrical impressarios" run for City Council, the vast majority of our fine citizens know exactly what Edna Peterson stands for. The time has come to return Edna to the City Council.
Dude, put your glasses on when you're surfing the web. Edna Petersen's name appears in the post. Look again.
does the stupid sign say "Edna Welcomes you"?
I'm sure if it did she'd say "spend all ur money in my shop and get the hell out of town"
Edna should be returned.....
somewhere
but NOT to the city council.
She's a bitter woman. We don't need more of those on the city council. Maybe if she'd start being nice to people ....everyone, not just those she thinks can give her some juice.
Edna....did you post the 12:41 comment? It sounds like you..with that old style waxing and waning about "fine citizens"...bwaaaahahahaha
is it just me, or did they pay too much for this eyesore. It's not attractive.
Thanks Edna
