Amy Goodman in Port Angeles
Friday, November 27th (the day after Thanksgiving) at 12:15 p.m., Amy Goodman will be coming to Port Angeles. She’s one of the founders of Democracy Now! and her column appears in the PDN every Thursday (underneath Cal Thomas’ column).
She’ll be doing a book-signing at the Raymond Carver Room of the Port Angeles Public Library. Port Book and News is sponsoring the event.
Her political views might not be your cup of tea, but in any case, we’ll be having a famous person right here in River City.
Click here for more information. The PDN says her book-signing starts at 12:15, and the Port Book and News site says 12:30. Better to play it safe and show up by 12:15.

Democracy? Where?!?!
Amy Goodman, never heard of her.
On another front my camping trip got cut short.
I survived a hell of a storm, it hit really hard west of Port Angeles and I camped the first and night at the surfers beach at Twin Rivers
The grim reaper was there but again forgot what the hell for, in fact he wasn’t having anything to do with that shit and stayed in the cozy camper with me while she raged and raged outside. We wasn’t frigging about to let that bitch in the camper with us, ha ha ha.
Decided the next day that the second feature would be a repeat of the first so I decided to move on to the Lyre River. The seven miles of highway getting there looked like a war zone and I got some great pictures to post and write about.
It wasn’t pretty at the Lyre River either, but I stayed for one night and then cut my trip short to return and check on the home front. Actually, even though it was ugly out there I found it too be really interesting. Interesting that 16,800 households, almost everyone around me was without electricity but I was cozy in the camper and had electricity.
It’s not bad in Port Angeles right now, I see a bit of sun out there so instead of dropping the camper I’m going to go spend the night somewhere. I know, it’s Friday, just right for parking at a Honky Tonk.
Democracy is a nice theory but becomes a farce when the majority in a country think and vote with the nine year old in them.
Hey BBC, I WAS wondering how you were doing out in the wildin' winds.
She should be here on Saturdays to see the wonderful representatives of Port Angeles that stand on Lincoln Ave, waving their "anti" everything signs. "Pantystains", I think is the term I saw for them on another blog site.
Yep...and 9 year olds vote Democrat! They whine and want everything for free...lol.
Those "pantystains" are our great great unwashed...leftist Democrats who think President Bush is still in office...lol.
Pretty funny Rex.
I seem to remember it was our recent Republican Presidential candidate who suspended his election campaign so he could rush back to Washington to get the mega-money taxpayer bail out for the financial institutions passed, ASAP. Free money for those Wall Streeters who were getting millions in "bonuses", etc.
And, wasn't it the GREAT Clallam Republicans who almost voted in Sue Forde, whose campaign was about the UN, the black helicopters, jackbooted thugs and their conspiracy to take over Clallam County.
Sounds like really intelligent, mature voters there! LOL!

The difference between a 9 year old Democrat and a 9 year old Republican is the reflection in the mirrors.
There really is not that much difference between those two parties.
Anyone choosing to be a Democrat or a Republican is an under thinker.
Folks, just call me Billy, or asshole, I answer to that also. Just don't be surprised if I call you an idiot. :-)
Billy u da dawg!
I have a really neat video about Santa bitching about christmas I was going to post but Blog Spot has you check an agreement not to post risque vids and this one may be pushing my luck too far.
Maybe Disney got to Blog Spot, or they are trying to become cultured and all that shit.
But it sure takes away from the open forum of the internut, damn cyber cops.
Expects the kids to learn things on the street like we did I guess.
I see that the Lincoln Park store is open again, if they don't have ideas of riches and just hope to make some money and be thankful for it they may do okay. I hope so anyway.
Rex,
Get over yourself. The reality of "leftist democrats" is as idiotic as "elitist republicans". The reality...there is ONE BIG screw-the-people party, and all the politicians are out to get theirs. We are no longer represented.
The days of the Republician concept of strong states, weak federal government, and the Democrat concept of strong federal government, social services, etc, weak state government (which is HOW these two parties were different) is all gone. LONG GONE. Clinton did more "republican" things than Bush did, and Bush (senior and junior) did a whole lot of social servicing, weakening state governments, etc.
So, it's all out of whack, and you can no longer cling to the old bullshit....well, maybe YOU can, but most of us will just regard you as an out-of-touch dork.
