Scenic Byway Website for Highway 112
There's a new website for tourists traveling along State Highway 112 between Port Angeles and Neah Bay.
The site includes information about the byway, maps, points of interest and photos.

I'm sure any people who make the effort to drive the 100 plus miles out here will be duly impressed with the "No Wilderness Forest" placards set up along the scenic highway.
Clearcuts are so much more important than the future.
Or maybe they will come forewarned with the knowledge that logging is part of the human history of the highway.
I love tbat drive. Not for the faint of heart most of the year. Certainly worth it, if one has not seen the sites out there. There are services, but come prepared for emergencies and any special needs you might have. And be prepared to stay the night, if the road washes out. Happened to me twice.
The things I love the most about that part of the peninsula are the trees, the clear cuts, the partial cuts, and the fact that the trees grow so darn fast out there. And the spirit, people, culture, animals, water, and views!
No matter what one thinks of land use policy, your journey will be rich. Assuming you keep your eyes on the road, make it, and actually get out of the car and don't focus on the drive and scenery too much.
The 112 byway is one of the best bike runs in western Washington. Especially if you make the link with 113 and come back on 101 around Lake Crescent. I've marked that route on many other guys maps over the years. Even got a phone call from Germany thanking me for the suggestion. I don't know why we don't push this place as a bike mecca. I mean bikers seem to prefer twisty roads, rednecks and shitty motels, seems like it'd be a no brainer.
