Stay of Execution for the Pool

The Port Angeles City Council voted unanimously to keep funding William Shore Memorial Pool through the end of March 2009.

After that it’ll be up to the voters. Supporters of the pool are hoping to get an initiative on the ballot in May 2009, which would create a parks taxing district for funding the pool.

The City Council voted on this measure after hearing the plan presented by Krista Winn, chairwoman of Save the Pool PA.

If voters approve a parks taxing district, then the council can decide to add anything they want to the taxing district and the taxpayers have no power to say no! The council will milk it for all they can get. Money for this, money for that, and up goes our taxes, again.

Get the word out...NO MORE TAXES!!
Make sure everyone is educated about this issue...don't listen to the sob stories.
There are many ways they can reduce costs...and it sure doesn't cost 500 grand just to keep this pool open...money is being siphoned off for other pork.

They'd save a lot of money if they didn't fill the pool with water.

Screw the pool...if they want it, they can pay for it. Most of us don't use that chemical bath.
I'm tired of paying for s*#t for every other Tom, Dick & Harry.

Citizens of Port Angeles, a crisis of unfathomable proportions threatens one of our most precious city resources: our local fool!

Yes, I know, so many fools around town that you take them for granted. But you do so at your own peril! One day you might wake up to find that your local fool is gone, vanished without a trace. What then?

Yes, you'll certainly be sorry when the local fool is gone. "If only," you'll think to yourself with great remorse, "If only I had acted sooner! Given generously to my local fool when I had the chance. Now, alas, it is too late and the local fool is gone forever!"

But it's not too late! This doesn't have to happen! You can, this very moment, help to save that precious resource that exists here in Port Angeles: the local fool.

Give generously to help save the fool!

Visit us at our down town storefront, or on the web at Savethefoolpa.com!

The local fool depends on you!

the city has a huge vehicle fleet -- huge huge, and they're NEW. Why is it that city works get to take home those vehicles (use them as personal)? Make the city stop wasting our money on new, new new...and cut back. And, WTF? City workers get pay raises...when no one else around town, in ANY line of work, has been. Great...cut the fat, cut the perks, cut the wages. The pool will be financed, and the budget will balance.
