Gateway (continued…)
The Gateway project can continue now. A stop-work notice had been issued on November 21st because of cracks in the concrete. This past Friday, Nathan West —economic and community development director — lifted the order.
Last week the city received a report from Berger/Abam Engineers Inc. of Federal Way. This report clears the way for Gateway construction to resume.
Meanwhile…In today’s PDN, the online survey question is: “Do you think you will use The Gateway transit center and/or its parking garage when it opens in Port Angeles?”
As of this writing, 509 votes had been cast.
39.7% said “Probably Not.”
33% said “Never.”
12.4% said “Yes, Sometimes.”
10% said “Not Sure.”
4.9% said “Yes, a lot.”

What I would like to know is what this report cost you.
This report clears the way for Gateway construction to resume.
Okay, so what did this report say? Not that I think a few cracks are unsafe, I'm just wondering is all.
“Do you think you will use The Gateway transit center and/or its parking garage when it opens in Port Angeles?”
I'll look at the clock when I drive by.
Anyway, stopped at Sunny Farms yesterday. You can buy small packages of tenderloin there, ten bucks a pound, reasonable for that kind of meet.
I got two nice thick steaks for $7.65. It's not tough, but not as tender as some I've had. Tastes good.
Conclusion: For just over ten bucks you can make a great meal for two at home when the same meal in a good restaurant would cost you (I'm guessing) about fifty bucks.
"What I would like to know is what this report cost you."
I think I read about $13,000. I should double-check that... nahhhh, too lazy.
"I'll look at the clock when I drive by."
Now see, Gateway does have something redeeming about it. If you're downtown and can't see the clock on the old courthouse from wherever you are, chances are you can see the Gateway clock. At least we've got something for our $14 million.
Well, we'll have something else to bitch about when the clock isn't working or the time is off.
There must be some value in that being as we love to bitch so much. But fourteen million? Give me a break, I have a four dollar clock on the dash I can look at.
I was just over to Rick's shop when a contractor friend came in to bullshit with us and I asked him what he thought of the problem there.
He didn't know about it as he hasn't inspected it but he did think as I do that it is an architectural problem and nothing to do with Primo's work.
What he has noticed that I haven't is that some inclines seem wrong as there is a lot of standing water in places.
Like I would notice that looking at a fucking clock. On the bright side, the homeless will have a place to bathe, ha ha ha.
There's a rumor that the contractor doing the work on Gateway has been receiving some huge amount of money every day, even on days when there isn't any work going on. Anyone know if this is true?
Yes, it is!

The contractor may be billing the city but I can assure you that the city does not pay out money to them everyday.
Cities do not work like that. The paying of all bills have to go through city meetings and be approve for payment, often many months late, if at all.
In a complex issue like the Gateway project it can be expected that the contractor may not be paid for all that they bill for.
I have a friend that won't even do business with the city anymore because they are a pain in the ass.
On the bright side, they are doing a great job of turning the downtown waterfront area into a slum with a bunch of businesses that few locals visit, ha ha ha.
Other than the Cornerhouse Cafe and a few others. Oh well, those slummers need a place to be also. Where else can you go and pay seven bucks a pound for a piece of fifty cent chocolate?
I had something else to say but I'm having a brain fart, ha ha ha.
Off topic, but what happened to all those tree lights downtown? I was in town the other night and there wasn't a single light on for the length of First Street and Front Street. Vandalism? Those lights usually stay up til early March.
oh boy!...i am homless and righting this frum the libary and i need a new plase to sleep. wen will my new bed be redy?
Go find Billy. He'll put you up for the night and show his tool collection. Good eats and a place to sleep at Billy's, y'all!

Oh boy, Gateway will be finished in a few weeks. Then again, they were saying the same thing 4 months ago.
