More Oil Spill Protection for Strait of Juan de Fuca

Yesterday the U.S. Senate unanimously approved a Coast Guard spending bill which increases oil-spill protection for the Strait. The entire strait is now designated as a “high volume port area."

That designation already applies from Puget Sound to Port Angeles. But this bill extends that designation as far west as Cape Flattery.

The bill still has to go to a House-Senate conference committee.

Um, why don't they just build a new refinery at Neah Bay or somewhere in that area?

I just replaced the front brakes and a wheel bearing on my truck. The parts came from China, Taiwan and Mexico. The calipers were rebuilt in Canada, likely with parts from another country. Now what’s this shit about buying American made stuff? You can’t find much for American made auto parts in this town.
