Fat Smitty's Makes the PDN Front Page

The food at Fat Smitty's is excellent. I'm glad they made the front page of today's Peninsula Daily News.

I've only been there once, about five years ago. Best burger and milkshake ever.

Needless to say, I didn't discuss politics while I was there.

I suppose that I should try one someday, I'm not much of a burger eater though.

On my last camping trip I spent one night behind the 7 Cedars casino and played a slot next to a lady that works there. She must be doing well considering the amount of money she was feeding those machines.

Yup, god bless America. Where you can pay a premium price for a burger so that someone else can shove hundred bills though a slot machine owned by the natives.

Like it says on my coffee cup.

I'M SURROUNDED BY FUCKIN' IDIOTS

Pretty amusing, hehehehehe

Port Book and News advertises their politics...Fat Smitty can certainly do the same! That's why we live in the greatest country in the history of mankind.

We had our time in the sun, that's for sure. Well, a short time as things go being as it's only been a few hundred years.

I'm pretty sure it is all going to go to hell but wasn't this a great period of time to be here?

I saw that on the PDN website and it reminds me I've never eaten there. I need to do that someday. Don't really care about his politics as long as the food's good. But I'm getting really burned out on politics. I'll just step back and let the Republicans and Democrats tear each others' throats out and then the rest of us can move in and pick up after the mess they left behind.

On the other hand, what's up with this article? It's supposed to be an article about hand-crafted toys, but the author turned it into an editorial against computers. Yup, we'd all be better off if we shut down our electronics, close up the mall and all go home to play with a wooden duck. Maybe we could shut down electricity, phone lines and running water too. Go live in teepees because that'd be better somehow. Geez. Okay, I'm biased because I'm a nerd, but I expected an article about a long-running Port Angeles store, not an editorial promoting a luddite lifestyle. Okay, off the soap box. Mmm, Smitty Burgers nom nom nom!

I don't think that computers make our lives better in some ways, but they sure are good at wasting our time and feeding us stupid information.

On the other hand, wooden toy's sure aren't going to cut it for everyone. I favor moderate, living in something between a tent and a fancy place.

Rex the Romans said the same thing about their country, and look where they are now?

It's not much of a burger. The place is quaint, but not much else. Food is not great, edible, but nothing special. The burgers are thin slabs of meat a'la costco freezer cases. Bleah.

if the wooden toys were cheap crap maybe my kids would play with them. The problem is whomever makes said toys uses cheap, cheap, thin dowels, and doesn't consider that maybe some things shouldn't disassemble so easily. Obviously has no memory of how kids are a bit rough on toys.
Then, the cut metal cans that make cute hanging airplanes....are as sharp as razors, and the crocheted cute sweaters are all scaled for preemies. Please!
The store is a cute idea, however, the quality control is lacking.

You may be right, I don't know, but having worked in the trade in this area some, like as a cook at Granny's Cafe for a while I can tell you that most cafes (not the fast food joints) in this area get their meat from that meat supplier over on Valley street.

What makes a difference in a burger and many other cuts of meat is the proper cooking and the sauces and seasonings you add to it to make it stand out.

why in the HELL is Fatty Smitty's a front page item in this hell-forsaken small town of morons?
Who cares. It's a small restaurant, and the food sucks and FSA probably sells them the slabs of crappy meat, and the help isn't all too friendly, and some of the regulars are ass*oles.
The real question is: can't PDN do better than that for filler for their fishwrap?
