Chemical Dependency and Mental Health Program Fund Advisory Board;

Hell, almost everyone I know and all of my friends drink or smoke pot, or do both, so I guess that disqualifies me.

Well, Cherie Kidd doesn't smoke or drink, but I can't help it that she's flawed.

There is no pay for doing this, so it isn't a 'job'. But have you read the qualifications they are requesting ....for 'volunteers'? I did a cut and paste from the Clallam Codes on their website:

(3) The Board of Appeals shall consist of five members, who are not County employees, qualified by experience and training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction. The members shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners, serve at their pleasure, and consist of the following:

(a) One general contractor currently licensed by the state of Washington with at least 10 years of experience;

(b) One civil or structural engineer currently licensed by the state of Washington with at least 10 years of experience;

(c) One architect currently licensed by the state of Washington with at least 10 years of experience;

(d) One ICC-certified building official, building inspector, or plans examiner with at least 5 years of experience;

(e) One ICC-certified Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, or Fire Plan Examiner with at least 5 years of experience;

(f) Two alternates appointed meeting the above qualifications to hear appeals during the absence or disqualification of a member.

Tell me, if you had that much experience such that you would even qualify for any of these positions, would you be willing to spend whatever time takes to get involved in a dispute only so it would look good on your resume?

Personally, I am just short on the years of experience they want for two of the positions, (Com & Res construction and an ICC Com & Res Bldg Inspector) but if they relaxed their conditions, I would be happy to sit on their board. Being new to this country (Canada), I would especially welcome putting that on my resume.

I wish them well on that one.
