ACTI Announces Expansion Plans
Angeles Composites Technologies Inc. (ACTI) is planning a 50,000 square foot expansion, and they expect to add between forty and fifty jobs next year.
Mike Rauch, the company's CEO, also said ACTI isn't going to move, even though other cities and states have tried to lure him away. He said:
"It was a tough decision, but I have a vested interest in this community, my shareholders have a vested interest in this community and our employees have a vested interest in this community."

They're adding 40 to 50 new jobs?
No, no, no and no again. This must be stopped. Surely there are some squawk-a-doodle leftist lobbying groups in Seattle that we can bring to put this successful business down.
Down with success and employment. Up with failure and permanent unemployment benefits. Today Nippon, tomorrow ACTI!
Great news, thank you Mr. Rauch
Merry Christmas Port Angeles
Great job Economic Summit, if I remember right, the composite campus idea was spawned there.
Congrats to ACTI, keep up the good work, we need it.
"Merry Christmas Port Angeles"
Ha ha! That just riled a whole gaggle of the Athiest Leftists!
Jesus is the reason for the season!
What an innovative concept - industry located in an Industrial Park, and not along a historic shoreline. Got room out there for an electricity generating biomass incinerator too?
"Jesus is the reason for the season!"
Watched TV lately? Listen to the radio? Been to any "shopping center" lately?
I think you're a bit out of touch with reality, lad.
The reason for the season is consumerism. Time for all good businesses to do everything they can to make the bucks.
"Ha ha! That just riled a whole gaggle of the Athiest Leftists!"
Ha ha! Jesus was one of the most famous Leftist the world has ever known.
Uh, if Jesus is the reason for the season...Why does my neighbor have an inflatable Mickey Mouse ferris wheel in their yard to mark "the season"?
The same question goes for all those awful, tacky inflatable snowman snowglobes littering the landscape. (Maybe Jesus is hiding inside the snowman?)
LOL! You got it Anonymous 4:04 AM! The fruitcake Diana Sommerville should have something to say about this! Why, those composites must have polluting vapors! Oh the humanity!!! LMAO!
I wish all the flakes would stay in Seattle where they belong...including you Anon 3:27..."historic shoreline"...what a bunch of BS!
Notice how none of the leftist posters in this thread had the courage or decency to congratulate Mr. Rauch on a job well done?
Any company that adds jobs or attempts to preserve jobs must be done away with. Today Nippon, tmorrow ACTI!
"Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity." Psychiatrist who, 100 years ago, refused to condemn a jailed suffragette to an insane asylum. Her "insane" crime? Trying to secure for half the adult citizens in the USA - women - the right to vote.

Amazing that you know the political and social interests and beliefs of people who post here. That is quite a gift.
Why don't you use this amazing gift for positive efforts in your community, instead of trying to constantly create divisions.
I'll congrats Mr. Rauch,
We are very lucky he started his business here in the first place and are even luckier he's choosing to expand here.
Maybe someday he'll buy a Westport boat and help them too.
"Why don't you use this amazing gift for positive efforts in your community ..."
Dunno 'bout you, Jack, but I'm doing something for the community by fighting local Socialism.
About time this town starts making good decisions! Woohoo ACTI
"Dunno 'bout you, Jack, but I'm doing something for the community by fighting local Socialism."
Have you looked under your bed? In your closet? They must be somewhere!
I'm always amazed when I read posts from people who do little more than hurl insults. It seems like they think that by insulting everyone that doesn't think like they do, that they somehow can stop inevitable change.
They don't seem to understand that all they accomplish is to alienate the majority, and isolate themselves with a few other insulters.
We can look throughout history, where we see examples of extremist fringe groups who rant on, and hurl insults. I don't doubt their sincerity, but I also know they have very little effect on the majority.
Few people will offer their help, after they've been insulted. This is no way to build support for ones' social or political efforts.
Walk up to someone you don't know, smack them in the face, and say:" You're the biggest jerk I've ever known, and I'd do anything I can to sabotage your life.... But, hey, will you help me get my car out of this ditch?" What do you think they are going to do?
I heard a man at Rotary once say, "ACTI will someday be the largest private employer on the peninsula one day"

40 - 50 jobs huh? Well, it's a start...
i talked to Mr. Rauch, he is striving for 500 employees by 2016

I assume you have started by swearing off your Social Security. Please do let us know.
Saw the "Update" on the PDN about the State budget cutting, this evening. Made me think about the new politicians just elected to the Federal government with the mandate to cut taxes, and cut the size of government.
A few months ago, I remember reading that more than half of the jobs in the Port Angeles area are government agencies of one kind or another. I think the source was the Port Angeles chamber of commerce.
Will this budget cutting affect Port Angeles? Will it result in layoffs? Does anybody know?
"i talked to Mr. Rauch, he is striving for 500 employees by 2016"
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
Stop this success now before it's too late!
Up with failure and permanent unemployment benefits!
