Dan Di Guilio to be Temporary General Manager of Jefferson Transit

Port Angeles Mayor Dan Di Guilio will be the temporary General Manager of Jefferson Transit. He will replace Peggy Hanson, who has resigned.

Di Guilio used to be the General Manager of Clallam Transit, retiring in 2004. His temporary assignment in Jefferson County might last through the end of 2011.

Yeah, he's gonna be the head of Jefferson Transit, and set a good example for us all by DRIVING IN HIS CAR back and forth between Port Angeles and Port Townsend every day. (I'm guessing it'd cost more than $85,000 to get him to actually ride the damned bus...)

Oh, and yeah, he's gonna be hyper-focused on Port Angeles business after running his fat ass back and forth between hither and yon every day. He'll be a really, really good, focused mayor - just like Kent Myers is a really, really focused city manager. (Focused on getting the hell out of here, that is...)

WHAT A JOKE. He retired seven years ago, in another county, and there's NO ONE ELSE who can do this job??? No one else who actually needs a job??? No one else who isn't, uh, like, already the mayor of a town and supposedly focused on that???

Shame on Jefferson Transit, shame on Port Angeles, and shame on the whole damned Olympic Peninsula I guess...

I like Dan Di Guilio.

I like him because he's held a job, he's been successful and I like him because you silly libs foam and the mouth like a mad dog because he doesn't fall in with your lock step, goose step Socialist agenda.

Dan Di Guilio is a real asset to the City Council and to Port Angeles.

I mean, you silly libs want who - Max Mania to be mayor? Talk about a JOKE!

The more I travel around, the more I see what a sad place Port Angeles really is.

Yeah, I guess it is better than being in Haiti, in some ways. I think the weather was better there.

But the lack of unified purpose, or ANY kind of meaningful cooperation for the good of the whole community is just sad to see.

Everyone is in it for what ever they, personally, can get out of it. With no regard to the future. How can these people be good parents for their children?

Oh, yes. I remember. Parents brand their kids like cattle in Port Angeles, and the authorities don't even see that as wrong.

Time to leave.

Did anyone else notice that this announcement came almost immediately after the former manager announced she was leaving? As in, so close to that announcement as to make this look like a pre-arranged deal. As in, something stinks here. Like a previous poster asked, wasn't there ANYONE in Jefferson County or, I dunno, already working for Jefferson Transit, who could do this job temporarily? I mean, bringing in a long-retired transit guy from another county? What gives?

At least it's an election year, so we'll all have the chance to vote to send Mayor Dan on a bus trip out of office for good.

"it's a plot to put Edna back on the city council!"

OMG! I'm, not sure where to begin with this!

The obvious sarcasm is blinding. Coming from someone who is supportive of Edna, making fun of those that support an alternative in Port Angeles! Which (Port Angeles) CLEARLY needs so much help.

But, we have Obama bombing Libya to support a "ceasefire" that allows the foriegn supported "rebels" to continue firing upon government forces?! A one sided ceasefire? How does that make any sense?

Wait until the US militias start firing upon US government forces, and see what happens!

About as much sense as Port Angeles "good Ole Boy" politics.

So sad.

Dan Di Guilio ran on a Progressive platform. Yet! he votes old council/status quo every time. Now! This lame scenario of him "commuting" to Port Townsend to run their transit system. WHY?

I am tired of status quo good ole boy types running on Progressive values to get votes and then siding with the forces of regression every time. Cherie Kidd does this too! We are fooled time and time again.

This must stop!

People! Think of what would happen if Di Guilio stepped down to devote full time to JeffCo Transit. Don Perry, the Deputy Mayor, would take over. AAAAACK!
For all his faults, I would far prefer to have a part time Mayor in Di Guilio as opposed to a full time council head named Don Perry.

yeah, but if Di guilio resigned and Don Perry became mayor, then Max could become deputy mayor! Anyway, Don perry is gonna retire this year so Max could become mayor and then we'd have real reform in this town.

You do realize that the City Council and Mayor of Port Angeles are part time jobs, don't you? Just like the mayors and councils of most small towns? If you want someone 'hyper-focused' on economics I'd expect you'd have to pay them a little more than what the current compensation is.

And yet, oh wise right-wing one, he has been successful in his GOVERNMENT FUNDED jobs. And, in pretty much every other post you've ever made, you slam those who work for the government. So it's hard not to think that you were praising Dan DiGuilio simply as a way to set up...

"I mean, you silly libs want who - Max Mania to be mayor? Talk about a JOKE!"

...Yet another obsessive dig at Max Mania. Which is really what this is all about to you, isn't it? I get so tired of hearing about your crush on Mania, I wish you'd just get up the balls to either confront him personally, or ask him out, and then shut the hell up.

Of course, you don't actually have the balls to do anything other than post here, do you? Well, do ya?

Oh, Max! You're such a card. So posting as "Bodhi Blevins" wasn't enough for you, now you're back to posting as "The Watcher" again. Do you think the coast is clear because Kent Myers might be leaving town?

"Oh, Max! You're such a card."

Oh, Edna, you are just SO boring.

Please go up to 8th Street, and get some counselling. So many years after the election, and you STILL think you can win, if ONLY you can generate an anti-Max momentum anonymously.

We will compare what you achieved while in office, with what Max has, when the time is appropriate. Other than that, you just display such poor behaviours.

Forgive me for not seeing the jumps in logic here...

Port Angeles needs alternatives to Edna and her crowd.

Therefore, Obama's action in Libya doesn't make any sense.

Therefore, our government will begin firing on us.

Therefore, you're all sad.

What?

.......

I don't think the comments were intended to be a connected series of points, but look like a bunch of seperate issues that try to make a point.

And, as seperate points, I can't disagree. Look at the posts here from "Edna" ranting on, still, about Max Mania. Years later! Isn't that "sad"?

And, can you imagine if those militias that were a big thing in the US a few years ago, mounted anti-aircraft guns on the backs of pick-ups like they are in Libya, and started challenging US law enforcement by force?

Was thinking about that as I watched the evening news a couple days ago. It was about a young man near Seattle who was waving a machete around. The police shot him dead.

On the news last night, it was raised that civilians in countries that are allies of the US will not get the kind of military support in their efforts to get rid of their long time leaders. The protesters in Saudia Arabia, Bahrain, and others will just have to figure it out for themselves. But, the countries that the US does not like, well, that is a different matter. Syria is now the next for "international intervention".

Just be up front, and call it "regime change".

You're a real card - too bad you're just the knave.

You're so thin-skinned you finally blew your top and posted as "The Watcher" although we know it's just "Max".

Yes, I can see how you would like Dan. He really doesn't "fall in with your lock step, goose step Socialist agenda."

We can see from the quote below that he is an independent thinker, who looks carefully into issues before voting. That he, unlike the other "socialists" on the council, carefully weighs the facts before committing the public to huge debt.

From a PDN article about two weeks ago:

"Said Mayor Dan Di Guilio: “It’s not being uncomfortable that concerns me . . . it’s the technical aspect of the information. I don’t feel qualified to really understand it.” "

This about the biggest project in the City's history. But, he had no problem voting for this project, even though he publicly admits he doesn't understand what he is voting on.

Yep! This IS the kind of leadership Port Angeles needs.

AGAIN, you know this, exactly, how?

For the sake of the entertainment value of your posts (which is the ONLY value one might derive from your embarassingly obsessive posts) I'll counter your assertions by saying : "No, you are wrong, it is not Max Mania posting here, but Elvis Presley".

You offer nothing to prove otherwise. And, are about as credible as anyone thinking Elvis Presley is posting here.

Go get some help. You really need it.
