Get rid of the buses altogether...people need to walk (exercise) more, and if they live far away from their jobs, they can buy a car like the rest of us.
Yeah! Lets them buy cars like the rest of us. Gas is over $3.50 a gallon and rising fast.
Shut it all down! No more fire fighters. No more emergency medical personnel. No ambulance drivers (unless you have cash, of course).
Let the police and sheriffs lay off their officers. I don't want to pay for anything with any taxes.
I don't want to know about "the future", or any of the things that come with it. In the 1950s, Elvis was King, and America ruled the world. I don't want to consider any changes to that reality.
I see buses driving around empty all the time, I'd say cut backs are definately in order.
Cut 'em back to the bone!
I think the problem with ridership in Clallam County has a lot to do with poor management of the system. The crazy route and stop selection, (like Wal-Mart, or the Deer Park Cinema) really hampers the riders ability to utilize the service. The lack of coordination between Jefferson transit means that the public transit option from the ferries ends in Sequim. Clallam Transit does little to promote or encourage riders- they really shouldn’t be surprised they have so few.
