I don't know about this issue. So there was theft. Like it never happens?

Read the comments on the PDN site in response to the "Breaking News" "Earthquake" story.

Yeah. This is the place.

about time she was found guilty. I mean, from what the PDN reported she was all "oh, it was just a few cents", even though the bank account shows bountiful bucks.
Yeah, liar, liar. Hope she enjoys prison.

I suppose they will appeal it and drag it on longer, at taxpayers expense of course, meaning the loss of even more of our money.

But she looked guilty as hell to me, don't even pump sunshine to her.

this lady is going to get sent to a minimum security hospital and live off the taxpayers with health care for the rest of her life. Can anyone say "capital punishment"?

If you think this is the end, which I wish it was, more of our money will be spent by Betts. Can't imagine she's using public defenders. I believe she's guilty, guilty, guilty!

There's some pretty stupid comments on that post, so stupid that I didn't even bother to leave mine.

I'm ready for a big one, are you?

So what? The tourists will want to come and see it. Charge them an entry fee.

Capital punishment for theft? So you would agree with the person in the Daily News comments who held China to the model we should aspire to when dealing with crime?

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you people?

Oh, this so positive, Yes. Kill the woman. Execute her in a public stoning, so we all can get out there and help kill her for her mistakes. I think at Civic Field. Advertize it in the PDN, so we have a good turn out.

Then, like they did in Somalia a few years ago, we should burn her body, and then drag her through the streets of Port Angeles.

No WAY should we show any compassion. If we are really violent, depraved and gross, these criminals will learn something.

duh!
Guilty?
But that amount of money was probably not the work of one person. She was probably the scapegoat and the whole department has their fingers in the pie.
They did find the right scapegoat, though, not a very savory character, abrasive, and a bad liar.
