And, we see few care.

Countries and economies around the world have been, and continue to make changes needed to reduce the use of fossil fuels, and address climate change. Here in Port Angeles, we could care less.

Water levels continue to drop in rivers and wells across the county. In Sequim, farmers are choosing which crops to let die, as they face water restrictions. But people are still watering their lawns as if there is no problem.

The science and weather professionals are predicting another warm winter here.

Remember, we heard we got the "normal amount" of rainfall last winter. We are told this is not really a drought because of that. That we have a "snowpack drought".

What is not mentioned is that most of that rain fell in a few big storms, much of which quickly filled up streams and rivers, and flowed out to the Strait. Lots of uneventful rainy days allow the water to soak into the ground, and recharge ground water. If there were reservoirs, annual total rainfall would count for a lot more. But, the truth is, we haven't had any meaningful rain since Jan. We had a record setting dry and hot spring.

But, Walmart is still there. So, who cares.
