Family Medicine of Port Angeles

There will be a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow, 12:30 p.m. at Family Medicine’s new downtown location — 240 West Front Street. The ceremony will include Mayor Gary Braun, representatives from Olympic Medical Center, Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce, First Federal and Shorebank.

The new location is the site of the old City Light building.

Dr. William Hennessey, one of the Family Medicine partners, said: “We’re looking forward to providing a patient-centered medical home under one roof for all our patients and hope to bring new energy to downtown Port Angeles.”

They've been talking about this for years, like it's just about to happen. And they're just now having the groundbreaking ceremony? Maybe this thing will actually be up and running by the time we're all dead of old age.

Off topic - anyone know what's happening with that store that used to be Romantic Notions? After that it was Swank shoe store for a few months, and not it's been vacant a few months. For awhile there were people working inside the building and the for rent sign was down. Now there's no more work being done and the for rent sign is back up.

I think the building is owned by Del Gusto or whatever their name is, that family that owns half of Port Angeles.

That block of Cherry street downtown has been one way ever since they first started talking about that doctors office moving downtown. Now that it's F#$%'d up the traffic flow downtown for several years, it would be nice to get that doctors office downtown, so the business people can reap something besides traffic bottlenecks.
