Port Angeles Might Hire Hearing Examiner for Land Use Issues
The City Council voted unanimously to come up with a funding plan for hiring someone to deal with land use issues. If/when this person is hired, land use applications and appeals would no longer be handled by the City Council or Planning Commission.

I had to laugh when I read the part of the article where the council members said they wanted hire this person, because then the issues could be decided by someone who knew something about the topics under discussion.
At least the council members are pawning off their responsibilities acknowledging they don't know anything.
So, we elect them to do exactly, what?
Well, gosh-durn. And here I keep hearing about how "Max" has all this time on his hands to ask the tough, insightful questions. You know, the hard, serious questions the rest of the corrupt, Republican pawns on the council refuse to ask.
Now we have another layer of bureaucracy to deal with.

Let's see, Max is one of how many council members?
And if I remember correctly, you complain that he DOES ask questions, instead of blindly going along with "the rest of the corrupt, Republican pawns on the council"!
Cities just love to scheme and plan. And of course governments always want to grow more so they have more to play lord over.
I can't be bothered with it, to busy with my terrorist and smuggling activities.
Isn't this related to something from a few weeks or months ago, where the city council voted to changed the rules AFTER protests had been filed?
That is just WRONG. That is like one team unilaterally changing the rules of the football game after the game has already started.
so now we'll have a land czar?
so now we'll have a land czar?
Think of a government, city or otherwise, as the king, and the land czar as one of his men.
Long live the king, hehehehe
Czar Max the First!
And if I remember correctly, you complain that he DOES ask questions ..."
No. Nope. Wrong again, Comrade! I've never complained that the Dear Leader asks questions. I have, however, complained that the Great Savior and his his whacky enviro-Nazi backers act as a shadow city council.
O.K., you can go back to sleep now, Comrade.
