The pervs won't have to go to the library to download kiddie porn anymore. Thanks to the City now providinhg Wi-Fi all over the city for free, they can download to their hearts content!
Between the city-wide and city controlled wifi and the city-wide automatic metering system that sends constant wireless signals to city hall about a customer's utility usage, is anybody uncomfortable about the vulnerability to cyber criminals (or people at city hall) misusing this personal information?
If you care about personal privacy, avoid living in Port Angeles if you can, and resist the temptation to use the city-wide wifi system.
And never mind those leaking sewer pipes or failing power lines or crumbling streets or sidewalks. Don't focus on those! Don't be a Donnie Downer! Be more like Pat Downie instead, and OOH! and AHH! over the exciting new (partial) waterfront that the city council is spending their (your) limited funds on.
Infrastructure? Basic maintenance? Improved services?
BORING!!!
This is a council that wants to build cool stuff that might have their names on it, not a council that wants to actually maintain and/or promote this city. No, so long as their egos are stroked, everything is fine, just fine. And they'll find the money somewhere...
How much do YOU have in your pocket?
I'm be camping next weekend where there are no signals at all, I like to get out and tune out.
"How much do YOU have in your pocket?"
Enough to get my family and myself out of this crazy town.

Lucky.
Of course, Port Angeles shows us all how to react to "market conditions", once again.
Only AFTER the international ferry traffic is reduced from 3 ferries running daily to ONE, does Port Angeles decide it is important to "upgrade" the waterfront where the ferry businesses are located.
Only AFTER the tourism traffic to Victoria has declined for years, does Port Angeles decide to spend millions to upgrade the area most used by tourists.
Only AFTER the price of fuel and travel has become prohibitively expensive for most average folks, does Port Angeles decide to break ground for tourist oriented improvements.
Smart. Very smart.
HEY, ASSHOLE.
Don't be shooting at my bank, while bankers may be a lot of crooks the gals that work in there are just clerks trying to make a living and I like those gals. Don't make me get all Dexter on you.
Christ, they do love to spend money, don't they? Too bad it's OUR MONEY they love to spend, especially since, as others have pointed out so well, it's on pointless projects.
