Port of Port Angeles Executive Director to Receive 12% Pay Raise
Port of Port Angeles commissioners voted yesterday to give executive director Jeff Robb a new 3-year contract which will include a 12 percent salary increase. His current annual salary is $123,165. Starting next year it will be $138,000.

That is what ya do! Tell everyone we need to reduce government spending, fight over what public services to cut, and then raise salaries.
Is this in recognition of the fine job this public employee has done? Reward for the Pen Ply losses?

Poor Jeff, $138,000 for that thankless job is a joke. i would not do it for less $200,000, and the taxpayers can fuck off, the Port makes most of their revenue raping their tenants and screwing everyone else who does business with them.
It is a fair salary. You look at ANY private company with more than 50 employees and their CEO makes much, much more!

Oh thank God! I was worried that we might be unable to retain a worthwhile executive unless we provided competitive wages. I surely hope this much needed compensation is made up by furloughs, pay freezes, raiding pension funds, and right-sizing the lower employees into oblivion like other companies and organizations are doing!
Geez, I'm getting a 1.7 percent raise next year, but it won't raise my income to over 12 thousand bucks a year.

Remember who keeps the PDN afloat. It isn't the average resident, it's the businesses and local govdrnments that pay for the daily ad space.

If you ever meet one of these people, it's all they will talk about - everything centers around the WATER and it's uses, and their desire to rip people off because they are deluded and in so deep. They will say ANYTHING and it eventually becomes embarrasing and once they realize you are in a different world, you are history to them. And stupid.

As long as we're going off topic, there's a woman in downtown PA who stands in front of the downtown antique shops giving away business cards to her own antique shop several blocks east of town. Isn't that sort of tacky? What do downtown store owners think of this sleazy sales tactic? And on top of that, her own store is a dump. If you haven't checked it out yet, save yourself a trip.
