Yes, Port Angeles looks SO good, when you come in via a ship. Anyone who has taken one of the ferries to Victoria knows this. (There used to be three ferries to handle all the tourists in years past. Now there is just one. Growing business opportunity?)
Remember how even the mayor said she got depressed returning to Port Angeles?
PA is competing with "Anacortes, Friday Harbor, Port Townsend, Poulsbo" during these cruises so maybe it's not so bad after all? I'm guessing most of the passengers will just pass through PA to Hurricane Ridge, the Elwha, Lake Crescent and so on. There's not a whole hell of a lot to do in town.
Anon at 8:55 - Rachael Carson would be so proud of you! You are a GENIUS!!! You convinced me! The EYES are the most important sensory organ, NOT the ears! NOT the nose! NOT my tongue! I am moving to the visually appealing port city of Victoria, and will start a sea salt company, and call it ORGANIC POOPY SALT! Nevermind that smell, it will LOOK great!
Breaking news! You read it at PA Online first!

Holiday Lodge LLC of Auburn/Des Moines buys the Chinook for 700K.
Holiday Lodge LLC bought it? Dat's interesting, thanks for dat info.
Check out the postcard of the Chinook on the PDN website! There is a pretty pink bed hovering in the air above the motel!!! WOW!!! Oh, wait, they explain that that is an inset, a separate photo of a delux room. I guess that is a different photo, cropped in. Whew. Thanks PDN for the explanation!
Not enuff motels in PA. Right?
Anon 4:22.. Enjoying 4:20 a bit too much these days? Not sure what you're trying to say.
Are you saying that the Port Angeles Mayor did not say she got depressed when she saw Port Angeles as she came in on the ferry from Victoria? It was quoted in the wonderful Peninsula Daily News, for what ever THAT is worth.
If the cruise ships docked at the Port's pier rather than at the City's pier, they could use the commercial electricity hookup instead of idling their diesel engines for hours.
"...instead of idling their diesel engines for hours."
As if anyone in Port Angeles cares?
