New Frequency for KONP

KONP has changed its FM frequency from 102.1 to 101.7.  The station's AM broadcast frequency is still 1450.

The KONP general manager said:

“We were able to increase our authorized power for the FM by moving to another frequency.  We felt it was a good opportunity to increase our service to the area, especially with so many people listening on our FM channel.”

It's pretty hard to take a station that carries Rush Limbaugh seriously.

I'm glad that you can get NPR where you are, BBC. It is really hard to pull-in an NPR station at our house. Maybe we just have lousy radios?
KONP's AM station programming is irritating and an embarrassment with its array of right winger hate mongers and good ol'boy local hosts.

I agree. KONP is an embarrassment. So are a lot of the local leadership.

I'm just back from a 5 day driving trip through a number of States. Sure gives perspective to what a backwater Port Angeles really is.

Anon 10:13 - Get caught in that outstanding warrant roundup, did ya? No longer have a place to fence your goods? Congrats, though, on buying a map and figuring out we are in the middle of nowhere.

Once a month, you should go to Bremerton and hang out at Hooters. There is a Motel 6 very close. Getting there cheap, good luck!

The fact that tools like you have a hard time getting out of town does suck, but it also means there are others like you having difficulty getting here, so it evens out.

Anon 6:32: Hunh?

Panties a bit tight?

Not sure why you think I have a hard time getting away from Port Angeles, or have anything to do with the warrants thing (which I've yet to spend the time to read about).

But, in driving 2,000 miles, and seeing how various communities are doing as of last week, it sure does give me a current view of topics relevant to Port Angeles.

And no, I did not need, nor use a map. Or a GPS system.

6:32... uh, did you just call 10:13 a thief? Based on what exactly? That he left town for a week? Lots of people leave town for various reasons. Is anyone who sets foot outside Port Angeles a thief?

89.3 is KPLU's Port Angeles repeater. It works pretty well.
