Wild Olympics and Lincoln Park Tree Removal among topics at PABA meeting

At this Tuesday's meeting of the Port Angeles Business Association, there will be a discussion and possible vote on position papers concerning the Wild Olympics and the Lincoln Park tree removal.  There will also be a report on a visit to Victoria and meeting with the city's mayor and the head of the Downtown Victoria Business Association.

Any votes at the PABA mean nothing, they are not part of the government here.

I will be so shocked when they vote to oppose Wild Olympics and endorse clear cutting Lincoln Park.

Take a look at the membership if you feel compelled to vote with your wallet: http://www.paba.org/memberlist.php?action=showall

Council member Patrick Downie, Mayor Cherie Kidd and City Manager Dan McKeen are all listed as members of the PABA so it does mean something, it's just not official.

The PABA would have to kick Kaj Ahlburg and Dick Pilling out on their asses before I'd even begin to take anything the group says seriously though.

I'm sure the Mayor of Victoria must have been SO impressed with the PABA reps.

After all these years, and ? previous visits, what can the PABA point to as having been accomplished?

Me thinks it's going to be harder to get government grants for a while so these ding a lings should pull back on stupid plans for stupid projects and just work on keeping a decent infrastructure operating.

Sadly, next year it will almost certainly be "Mayor Downie."

11:05 - I think you ARE Downey, trying to make your opposition appear like a fucking moron(s). Because that is how you appear, with the low info/negative thing.

Billly sez: "Me thinks it's going to be harder to get government grants for a while ..."

Yeah, the PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain) get put through the wringer for their deficit spending ways, and are forced into "austerity budgets" by the foriegn bankers.

But in the US, we call it "sequestration". And blame the politicians for not coming up with some kind of "deal" to make all that unpleasantness go away. Everyone expects some magic wand to be waved that will make all the debt go away, so we can get back to our consumer lifestyle.

Face reality?

Great year for those "in the know" to buy a duck! Plenty of time, and less competition! Same rule applies to lots of things!

Think I've figured out one reason why burglaries seem to be on the rise. Easy to see in a smaller community. The theives no longer can rob from their pot smoking and GROWER friends, who in the past, could not report the crimes!!! Or they would go to jail too! A pot plant and a gun in the same house?! Yikes! Ooops, my wife's cousin stole my coins and grandpas gun! Destroy the pot plant, call the cops! NOT!

So the theives are just branching out into new markets.

"Education bombshell.

Nearly 80 percent of New York City high school graduates need to relearn basic skills before they can enter the City University’s community college system."

This story appeared in the NYTimes, yesterday.

Ya wonder why Americans can be lead by the nose by the corporate owned government?
