County Commissioners Postpone Decision on Flow Control Ordinance

After two and a half hours of public testimony, Clallam County Commissioners decided to postpone their vote on a proposed flow control ordinance.  This ordinance would require that all garbage in central and eastern Clallam County be taken to the regional transfer station in Port Angeles.

The public consensus was that the ordinance would create a monopoly on garbage disposal, and everyone's rates would be forced too high.

Whereas I think how the area currently deals with it's garbage, which is to truck, barge and train the stuff to Eastern Oregon, is WAY stupid, I don't think the solution is to give Port Angeles a monopoly control of the stuff.

There are a number of ways we ciuld be doing this a lot smarter than we are, but first we have to change the staff and ways of doing things at city hall. The staff there now still have ignorant and outdated ways of approaching solutions to the city's problems.

And with staff giving the Council bad advice, what can we expect to happen?

A county wide thing should be controlled by the county and not the city?

I don't produce enough garbage to be much affected though.

Speaking of ignorant and stupid ways the city staff approaches waste management in Port Angeles, you see that city staff is trying to get another $16 million dollar loan "the city will pay back", for Cutlers Tank o Crap project.

Now we have Cutlers mini-me, Mike Puntenney, running this completely stupid project, happily raising taxes for Port Angeles residents and businesses.

See? This is how you make a city too expensive to live in. This project maximizes on going operational and maintenance costs, which the staff rarely reminds the public of.

Why try to do things that cost the least, or even would generate income from waste, when you have residents to just tax to death?

At least three outlets here sell small tractors.

With backhoe attachments on them. I think some folks already have their disposal solution.

And there are many of us that simply want backhoes to bury the bodies of the assholes with when the shit hits the fan.
