Advanced Composite Center (ACC)

The Advanced Composite Center (ACC) is a coalition of the Port of Port Angeles, Pacific Northwest National Labs and Peninsula College.  The purpose of the ACC is to encourage composite based businesses to locate in Port Angeles.

Port Commissioner Coleen McAleer is the group's proposal manager.  She said one of the advantages of locating in this area is the competitive shipping trucks and barges compared to the heavy traffic and long commute times of urban areas.

These folks must be glad Washington voters legalized smoking dope. To come up with rationalizations like those, they must be REALLY enjoying the reefer!

Seriously? "She said one of the advantages of locating in this area is the competitive shipping — trucks and barges.."How stupid do these people think business owners are?

As if Ports like Seattle, Tacoma, etc along with pretty much any of the big cities along the Pacific Coast don't have trucks? And trains? And huge industrial cranes for loading and off loading huge ships that bring materials in, and ship products to markets around the world?

These folks don't seem to get it. Doing big scale commerce is HARDER, MORE EXPENSIVE in Port Angeles.

Not to mention that "quality of life" thing.

Take another toke, Coleen, and keep dreaming.

Aha! THAT's why the Port wants to clear-cut the trees at Lincoln Park. They have visions of huge cargo planes wanting to land at the airport, hauling raw materials for the finished composites!

LOL! Right.

That is why "Port Commissioner Coleen McAleer.. the group's proposal manager... said one of the advantages of locating in this area is the competitive shipping — trucks and barges — compared to the heavy traffic and long commute times of urban areas."

Either way, there would have to be REALLY significant "financial incentives" offered any big business to bother locating out here.

Sure, anything is possible. But in these highly competitive times, why would a business locate so far away from pretty much everything, knowing there is no intelligent/functional workforce, and all costs are so high?

Wonder why all American manufacturing LEFT the US, and moved to China, Bangladesh, and India?

No business is knowingly going to put themselves at a disadvantage.

But, we'll see.

The trees at Lincoln? It's all about "grant money".

No vision, no values, no mission, no strategic plan, no product or service, no market, no strengths.
NO CHANCE!

Although, Inslee is so dumb he might just buy it
