Death Knell for Port Angeles Smart Meters?

The Port Angeles City Council has voted to authorize a standstill agreement with Mueller Systems to halt all work on Port Angeles' controversial Smart Meter project and begin a 60-day timetable for negotiating the termination of the City's contract with Mueller, which is based in Atlanta.

The City Council vote was 5 to 1.  Lee Whetham was opposed; Patrick Downey was absent.

Why a "standstill agreement" when it has been clear for many months that meter supplier Mueller Systems breached the contract long ago?
The City has already spent tens of thousands of dollars on outside consultants (West Monroe Partners) who in February confirmed the contract breach.
The City should just sue to recover funds already paid to Mueller and quit spending more time and consultant money "standing still".

WOW....68+% so far, of the locals (in the PDN poll) don't agree with what the PREZ did regarding the soldier from Idaho.

So many Republicans have flip flopped on this, wow. You'd think the 150 people who have voted thus far would show a little more sophistication and a little less knuckledragging but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Why can't the PDN ask, JUST ONCE, a question like, "Isn't it pathetic that McCain has flip flopped on the trading 5 Taliban leaders for the Idaho guy thing now that Obama has gone and done it?" Yes/No/I don't know/Pass the Fritos

Talk about a Lucy and the football moment! Sort of like the smart meters! A GREAT idea, if an entity really has the need and gets the right product from the right company. And of course the issue is now incredibly clouded by bad timing, corruption, incompetence, and misinformation.

:(

Ok, before bed I'm going to see if I'm allowed to read the article about the Grateful Dead bear and pot. Bet not! Such teases!
