Thorndyke Resources vs. Everyone Else (cont'd)

Thorndyke Resources, the company that's determined to build a pit-to-pier gravel mining project in the Hood Canal, consequences be damned, filed a lawsuit several weeks ago in order to lash out against environmentalists and anyone else who stands between Thorndyke Resources and its profits.  And now, in a classic textbook example of terms like “self-fulfilling” and “circular reasoning,” Thorndyke Resources is having a fit because Peter Goldmark, Commissioner of Public Lands, gave a 90-minute tour to several journalists who wanted to see the parts of the Hood Canal that would be destroyed by Thorndyke's proposed gravel mining operation.

Dan Baskins, spokesman for Thorndyke Resources, said:

“It's not right that he has spent all this time and money entertaining reporters and discussing a matter that is in litigation.”

[sigh]

Uh, yeah, it's “in litigation” because of the groundless/frivolous lawsuit that you filed.  That term again is circular reasoning.

Peter Goldmark - just the latest peter that Matthew Randazzo is sucking in trying to worm his way up in life. I don't trust either of them.

I don't have any solutions but I admire the problems.

I have a question...

Being as humans need a hell of a lot of gravel for building projects and paving over paradise would the pit to pier thing make said gravel cheaper or simply make the company richer?

On only a slightly different topic, you might have noticed that the ports on the west side of the US are saying "No!" to allowing increases in coal shipments from Wyoming, Colorado, etc.

The latest was just south of here along the Columbia River in Oregon.

But, you can't say no to these folks, and they have gone north to the Port of Vancouver, who said "Sure thing!" yesterday.

As one commenter noted "The Port said Climate Change is not in our jurisdiction, it is the responsibility of the Province. The Province says responsibility lays with the Feds, and the Feds point to the Port".

Yep, more of those circular responses. Meanwhile, the only thing they care about is, money. Future quality of life for our kids? Who cares.

Oh, 10:09 AM: Max, you have your own blog (Port Angeles Unearthed) to make snarky comments about folk you don't like. Why bring your paranoia and bitterness back here?
