Yep! The areas' true colors show.
We all know Columbus discovered America. There was nobody here. It was just a vacant place for the Europeans to set up shop.
Of course.
I've regretfully said that with a few more flu seasons behind us, attitudes will change in Port Angeles.
Perhaps when the first skinny, pasty-faced, stinky, malnourished, incestuous, murderous Europeans arrived on the peninsula, some Native Americans observed, "wow, they will not last long, look how the skinny white man's nose runs all the time." And of course we all know how that turned out.
There has been a rumor for centuries that the Archdiocese of Haiti has one of Columbus' boogars in their collection, considered a very important artifact.
Wait 'til the mosquitos are carrying Ebola! You know, contact with bodily fluids and all.
Then the fun and games will really begin.

I don't have an opinion about that one way or another.
I'm leaving to Texas on Monday to meet some blog friends, the rest of you monkeys are in charge of the zoo while I'm gone.
I could get along with 'Discovery Day' or some such thing. Nobody can spell 'indigenous' and it sounds like it could be related to indigestion. 'Discovery' can cover a huge range of ideas, should be enough room in there for everyone.
