Um, I don't do christmas, my 'christmas' money went to MY FAVORITE FOUNDATION
About the only businesses that I support in town are the Cornerhouse, the book stores, Best Hardware and Swain's.
Well, I have no need for more things, other than tools and Tim Allen stuff, so I'm going to Tacoma Friday to shop at Harbor Freight.
where did this list come from? Several stores are missing...
Onslaught of "Downtown sucks, Port Angeles sucks and we're all going to die anyway, so what's the point?" posts coming in... five... four... three... two...
You might as well visit some of these businesses before they fold after Christmas.
Be sure to enter the Which Downtown Business Will Close Next? raffle. The winner will receive a gift certificate from the business which closes it's doors next!
Fun for the whole family. Only in downtown Port Angeles!
BEST hardware? You mean Sunset?
Geez, I didn't realize they sold out -- to a crummy "coop chain". No wonder they have 1/10th the stock, and no one knows diddly about anything.
Figures.
As for what BBC wants...does, or who he supports. YAWN.
I got this information from the half-page ad in yesterday's PDN. I copied every business name from that ad, so anyone I didn't mention wasn't listed in the ad.
There's hardly any information available online. All I found was a very brief mention in the PADA website, and nothing in the Chamber of Commerce's "Events" listings, even though both of those organizations are supposedly "sponsoring" this event.
If anybody knows of a business that's participating and didn't get listed in the post, please let me know in the comments section and I'll update the post.
Man, Billy...talk about wasting your money down a black hole! Some big-wig of that organization is livin' large!
My money stays local...the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society...because the critters can't help it they have to live with so many human idiots!
LOL...some of these posts are hilarious! Especially the "onslaught..." and "raffle" posts!
Makes this a good blog for a good laugh.
Liz, before you bash the foundation I support you might take the time to learn a bit about it and the very fine women over in Sequim that run it.
I know them personally and I know that 100 percent of the money I give them goes to help poor women that have it much worse than any of us.
All expenses to run the foundation are paid for out of their pockets, so there !!!!
What did you do to help others this year? Besides shop for things for yourself that is.
I'll be happy to help anyone that needs help, loading a truck or trailer to move somewhere else if they can't find work here.
Reducing the population here by ten thousand is just fine with me. We could start by telling the new over paid city manager not to move here. He wants the place to grow, it isn't going to, the city is pissing your money away.
Or if you want to chip in I might consider moving to a smaller town or area.
Best Hardware, Sunset Wire and Rope, whateverthefuck.
The "onslaught" and "raffle" posts were perfectly timed. Bravo!
Liz, Helen's home is willed to the Peninsula Friends of Animals, mostly they just deal with cats. Did you know that they never put a cat down like the Humane Society does?
We feed about ten stray cats here also. I love cats but all I'm willing to do is feed them.
I can't afford to be a bleeding heart for every cat that comes along, people are more important to me.
Damned if I know why though, and cats will be here after we are gone, they have not lost their instinct to hunt for food like dogs have.
was the event renamed to "shop until you slip"
I was wondering how it did. Bad luck for downtown merchants.
I cleaned the driveway yesterday in case I have to go somewhere but haven't driven for days now.
I'm more than willing to walk to a lot of places, even into town, I do that often enough.
Sounds like more coming, glad I cleaned the driveway, don't want it getting too deep on me.
I'm going camping next week come hell or high water, if the roads are open, and the Lyre River campground.
It's damn hard to find a place to camp here in the winter unless you want to spend 30 bucks a day.
If I have to I'll go camp in the Walmart parking lot, it will just be a different experience is all.
Or in the upper parking lot at Reggies, ha ha ha.
Hi there! I just visited Port Angeles and wrote a blog about some of your great shops... www.thechichousewife.blogspot.com
