I am glad he was convicted, as all evidence pointed to him. What I don't understand is why he cannot get the death penalty -- two murders, arson, theft, fleeing the scene, etc., etc. How bad does it have to be now to be bad enough for the death penalty?

Pierce's lawyer said he plans to appeal.

A bullet in his head would stop an appeal.

Just saying......

Wow, that wrapped up pretty quick. That was only a year ago. Usually cases take a lot longer than that to go to trial. How's the girl who threw her kid away doing? Have we arrested the woman who took nearly three quarters of a million from the county? Oh, right, those are still pending...

Remember what happened to those outlaws with Jake Spoon in Lonesome Dove?...The guys who killed those "sodbusters" and then burned 'em? Augustus McCrae and boys give 'em what they deserved...they got th' rope!! Then the leader of 'em, Dan Suggs got a note attached to his body: "MAN BURNER and HORSE THEEF!"

Ya know? That is JUST what this town needs!

As far as I kin see it, there are all these criminal guys out there a-killin' an' a-burnin' folks, figgerin' that they might as well keep a-burnin' an' a killin' folks as long as they will only die by lethal injection if they get caught.

Those varmits would SURE 'nuf change their killin' ways if they knew that they would be hanged by the neck until dead in the town square with a note pinned to their chest. You betcha they would!

Probably would quit spittin' on the sidewalks too, and, probably run for city council right here in Port Angeles!

Yep! Let's make public executions a new "reality TV" show.

Saw the clip on TV about the guy who had been on death row, and going through the appeal process, who had been found innocent via DNA evidence.

Ooops.. Gabby, I think we dun hanged the wrong guy. Who's gunna tell his kin?
