Norm Dicks' Office Plans Meeting with Border Patrol

George Behan, spokesman for Rep. Norm Dicks, said staff members want to meet later this month with the Border Patrol's top supervisor for the Blaine sector. Behan said:

“Very obviously, there are concerns on the Peninsula. We want to get an update on the current activities and future plans, including the concern that the Border Patrol office in the area could be overstaffed. We obviously would be asking the Border Patrol's purposes and how that fits into the mission.”

Staff members for Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray might also be at this meeting.

I'm waiting for others to comment so I can see their opinions before I comment.

But they have the right to remain silent, hahaha

Don't you have an opinion of your own BBC? Or do you need a prompt to tell us you carry a gun again?

Here’s my take on it, a politician will pretend to be doing his job to please the people but at the end of the day things will go on as planed, after all, it is a government plan, screwed up as it is.

RCP…. If trouble breaks out would you prefer to be near someone with a gun or without a gun? This has never been a nice planet, get over it. I seldom pack one but I fully support my right too, and everyone else’s right too. I am seldom far from one, and neither are a lot of other folks here.

I’m headed back out to the boondocks for a few days, provide your own protection while I’m gone. While this is a relatively peaceful area even bad things happen here, deal with it.

I have NO hope for Port Angeles. This town is a waste of time and effort.

It would be okay again if a lot of the monkeys would just go back to where they came from, a town hasn’t got to be big to be a great town.

HERE'S MORE ABOUT THAT.

Yes, their work here is very important, of course they will defend it. Never mind that I always see them parked or driving all over the area and just farting around.

If only I could have a job like that, I'd go out of retirement for it, get paid to do some boating.

A federal policy on US Border Patrol arrests that changes from county to county in Washington State.

"In March, Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Richard Sinks declined to release statistics on apprehensions or detainments made by the Port Angeles station."

“Disclosure of the arrest statistics from the Port Angeles station would provide those interested in crossing our borders illegally with information that could aid their strategic targeting of potentially vulnerable areas along the border,” he said in an e-mail. “To maintain operational security these numbers will not be provided.”

From Whatcom County:

"July 30: Sector enforcement specialists monitoring a remote video surveillance system observed a subject enter the United States near 8th and A Street in Blaine. Border Patrol agents responded to the area and arrested a citizen of Cuba. Subject was processed for removal."
