Possible Ways to Collect PenPly Utility Money

Kent Myers said the City is weighing possible options for collecting $315,272 owed by PenPly. This could include going after the owners of the mill.  Port Executive Director Jeff Robb said the Port is not writing off the debt yet, but is doubtful whether the money can be collected.  He said:

“The only thing you can do is sue the corporation, and they have no assets.”

I believe that Kent Myers is flat out lying when he suggests that there may be realistic options for collecting Pen Ply's delinquent utility bill. He knows full well there are no such options, and he just doesn't want to say so.
I'm sick of that type of sleazy conduct.

Grant Munro has the debarker that was owned by Pen Ply. That debarker was attached by other agencies/creditors, yet, hmmm, it still ended up in Grant Munro's hands. And Grant Munro is (apparently) still making money on HIS end of the business. So, yes, the city absolutely should look into the connection between all of Grant Munro's business ventures and Pen Ply. And if he has money, go after him full-force, rather than simply shifting the debt over to ALL THE OTHER UTILITY USERS in Port Angeles.

But remember...This IS the City Council that also just approved (except for Max Mania) passing along Nippon's base rate ($36,000 a year or more) to...ALL THE OTHER UTILITY USERS in Port Angeles.

In other words, in the math used at the City, sometimes 1 is a bigger number than 20,000 - at least if that 1 is well-connected.

They all knew the white collar crime they were/still are committing. They also know they will legally get away with it, and Jeff Robb is no more than a bought and paid for tool.

Maybe the Gregoire administration can contribute another half million dollar grant to the City and Port under the guise of "community economic development" so that rate-payers won't get further stuck with the fruits of the poisoned tree. That makes more sense than the grant issued to PenPly last June.

Kent Meyer made a good point to me, that they can not go investigate without proof, we're not quite in a police state yet, especially not for wealthy thieves. Even though it seems plainly obvious that Munro used penply to swipe a bunch of money that that we the public is footing the bill for. So does anyone have proof of that because if so they should make a report so that he can be held accountable. Also while the police have no right to ask questions reporters certainly do. Any reporter with the guts and ability to probe the catastrophe?

Proof? Proof? I don't need no stinkin' proof.

The stack of logs on the PenPly property seem to be "proof" that a "business operation" continues. Grant Munro isn't denying he was an owner at PenPly. The PDN says the continuing logs being shipped to China operation is a Grant Munro operation, being conducted on Port property, PenPly property.

But, this is Port Angeles. Always a way those "special people" get the bucks, and we get the shaft.

"Any reporter with the guts and ability to probe the catastrophe?"

Yes!

That sharp-eyed, quick-witted newshound ... Tom Callis. This insightful, resourceful champion of the printed word will ferret out the truth regarding the underhanded, dastardly dealing of the PenPly Krew and expose all the filth in that hallowed champion of the public weal, the Peninsula Daily News!

Laugh at his silly hat or his battered car if you will. Don't misunderestimate Tom Callis, that champion of truth, justice and the Port Angeles way!

Yeah, I've really been impressed with Tom Callis, so far.

No wonder he works for the PDN. He does just as he is told.
