Hurricane Ridge Road will NOT be Open On Weekdays This Winter

The two-year experiment in keeping Hurricane Ridge Road open on weekdays all winter long was partially funded by Port Angeles, Sequim and Clallam County.  Olympic National Park officials have announced that the road will only be open Friday through Sunday this year (weather permitting).

What? They were not impressed by our Cheer Leader Mayors' efforts?

Maybe she needs new Pom Poms.

Good call on not keeping the road open. Makes government look all responsible and everything. Cool! I bet we don't get much cold weather and we don't get any snow worth any shit until February like last year. 3 days a week and holidays is enough.

Eventually the road will be permanently closed and fifty years later they will remove the asphalt. It will save so much money. It will make the area more interesting and attractive to the kind of people and wildlife I like. I hope it happens in my time. The entire road past Lake Dawn is just a giant subsidy for two stores, one club/association, three fast food restaurants, half a motel, and three quarters of a gas station. Weather permitting.

Cheerleader is one word and it does not need capitalization. Nor does pom pom. Hey, not everyone can make it through the fifth grade in Boise. Be proud!

Note to Lake Dawn Residents: PLEASE DO NOT move that large rock, that is a few feet north of the culvert by the road.

He added: “Crips are from south-central L.A., and if they knew that somebody was using their logo or anything, they would kick these guys' a--es.”

Note the photo of the dumpster. The Crips are close! In Olympia! But they can't be here, because they are from South Central LA!

They are everwhere. Odds are, though, these are homeboy neo-nazis. I mean, black criminals here? No way!

I only go up there about every five years, and only on a nice summer day.

It's more important to keep 101 and 112 open with what money we have to work with.

So, according to the article, despite the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent, the advertising, and all the publicity, very few people bothered to go up to Hurricane Ridge.

What does that tell us? That spending money for "tourism" to try to attract people to Port Angeles is a waste? That is what happened here.

Why is the City spending millions on the waterfront, for tourism, if we keep seeing that money spent on tourism doesn't produce results?

Why spend the money? Because all the special people in Port Angeles benefit!

Thanks Canada, for helping us out in Afghanistan, rooting out Al Queda and Bin Laden. You have always been there with us for the good fights. Per capita, you tend to have the largest testicles in the Americas, as far as being willing to fight wars. More so than us, per capita speaking. We are right behind Mexico, as far as being willing to volunteer, but catching up. My Grandfather fought along side some Canadians in WWII. Nice to see you coming over and showing some interest in our President and his re-election. The Americas ROCK! Especially when we stick together.

Inslee is five points ahead. With the large margain Obama will get in Washington, McKenna can't win. He and Driscoll sure are running far to the left. McKenna's new commercial has a pleading tone, begging us to not belive that he's a right wing extremist. His advertising really sucks.

I believe the reporting on this has been inaccurate. I've heard that Cherie Kidd herself will be up in the ONP with her snow shovel every day, clearing the road. She bought new gloves and everything!

Several local PA and Sequim family old timers got together recently to address the crime wave. They all agreed to address the issues in their own "houses" once and for all - as long as everyone was on board and did the same thing. Each group even named names, and went around the room, checking off names, making maps, checking social media potential/resources, etc., agreeing to send some of their criminal relatives to rehab. (forming a fund and board to help with ins. forms was discussed), make some move to the area they are most wanted, and for the rest just turn them in. But the deal fell apart when they all realized they would be left without designated drivers over the holidays.

Oh, great, first we had STDs to worry about. Now we have FTDs. Lots of this going round PA I've heard.

I blame the treacherous, racist rats at the Dem H.Q. on First Street, our Korporate Kidd-bot "Mayor", the biomass incinerator and Glenn Cutler for this. Boo!
