Governor Inslee to Attend Private Nippon Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On November 1st, Governor Jay Inslee will be attending a private ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the later-in-the-month startup of Nippon's expanded biomass cogeneration plant.  The celebration is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. on November 1st.  Nippon Manager Harold Norlund said:

“It's a private function.  Selected individuals have been invited.”

I'm glad this is in private. I hope Inslee takes a moment to reflect upon Nippon mgt. and any "visitors" from Japan, in private (private private) the fact that any money Nippon or any particular gazillionaire gives to republicans and teabaggers, is pretty much going towards making THE END DAYS happen sooner. And we don't want that. Bad for business!

Inslee is a political whore, just like his local pal Steve Tharinger. And I love how Doherty says to fire it up, then address questions or problems with emissions AFTER THE FACT. More great Clallam County leadership on display. The only upside to the biomass generator starting would be if all the political idiots attending the closed opening (nice concept) were to fall into the boiler.

It was poetic justice when the cloud of carcinogenic soot from inside the PenPly stack engulfed the dais filled with local dignitaries assembled to watch the implosion. It would be fitting if Inslee's visit could impart a similar local flavor.

Inslee is either woefully misinformed or intentionally lying when he enthuses that Nippon's new biomass incinerator will create jobs.
Just like the "proprietary information" about who will be purchasing the "renewable energy credits", Nippon will conceal the facts about the actual number of mill jobs existing before and after the start-up.
Withholding the truth and mouthing fictional platitudes benefits politicians and corporate public-money beneficiaries alike.

Prediction: Nippon will threaten the union workers with job losses or pay cuts if they fail to appear at the ceremony wearing big smiles of gratitude.

Steve Tharinger has been kissing Nippon's ass for so long, he thinks they're going to be starting up a bio-ass generator.

Jefferson on Pot: Bring it on! We have the expertise to make tinctures, extracts, salves, edibles, and have great farming conditions, and the farmers! Plus, it will bring jobs! And higher prices for crops per acre! AND, our pot will ROCK! (it will be organic, and potent, thus less things in your lungs or stomach that don't need to be there)

Clallam on Pot: We, the people who control Clallam Co. and Port Angeles are teabaggers and coddle tweakers, not pot. At least come here and buy your chemicals - shipped daily from Utah! If we do have a pot store in PA, it will be white trash/tweaker/crack pipe themed, and sell mass market pot from giant farms run by the Romney family and the Mexican mafia in Wenatchee because that's what we want, the people who control Clallam.

If people are concerned about being harmed by the electrical fields from smart meters, the bad effects of being in proximity to a 20 megawatt generating station must be exponentially worse.
Also - how much noise will that new steam turbine be making?
Go enjoy the waterfront out on Ediz Hook, folks. Just bring your ear plugs and be sure to avoid walking the public trail near the mill if you wear a pacemaker.

"Selected individuals have been invited.”

Yes, those who won't raise bothersome questions about silly things like, say, public health. You know, those who are bought and paid for by Nippon. You know, like Steve Tharinger, and Kevin Van De Wege. Cherie Kidd doesn't have to be paid for; she just naturally kisses corporate ass. Now there's a photo shoot for you Cherie...Puckered up for Harold's puckered ass.

"Selected individuals.." Ah ha. Glad to see we, who actually have to pay for and live with this facility, aren't important in this picture.

Next campaign, please remember not to include me as one of your "selected individuals" when you're looking for money and votes.

"Kevin Van Der Wege is also a putz." REALLY! You people who have nothing to offer except critical comments, who won't run for office yourselves, who won't go to City Council Meetings in person and make your voices heard, or even offer solutions to the issues of the day, in short who make no effort to better your community, your anonymous comments in this forum are worthless to consider!

Look what happens when someone does try to better the community. Look what they did to Max Mania and his wife. Speak up and get smashed down. No wonder no one wanted to step up to run for city council. All you get is abuse, because Port Angeles is a sick, dysfunctional place.

Because of commercial greed and exploitation the oceans are dying, Monsanto is introducing more cancers, and the planet is warming, or as I like to say, there is getting to be a lot of weather chaos.

Frankly, it doesn't look to me like there will be anyone here in forty years that will need electricity.

You think Steve Tharinger and Kevin Van de Wege are bad? Perhaps you would rather have that fine public representative we used to have, Jim Buck, back?

Or, you? You running for public office to solve all these problems, and take abuse from dimwits?

Billy sez: " getting to be a lot of weather chaos."

Did you see the news clip about Izu Oshima getting over 2 feet of rainfall in 24 hours! That happened 6 days ago. More than ever recorded. More than twice the rain they get in an average month.

And, that was followed by three more typhoons. The area has been flooded out for months now.

That nuke plant in Japan got hit by the typhoons, and had to dump radioactive water because of the flooding.

But, oil prices are falling because we are producing so much of the stuff right now. Brazil just awarded a contract on one of the biggest oil fields, Libra. Another 12 billion barrels to help with things!

Same with natural gas. Prices falling because of all the fracking, and gas we're producing.

Short sighted thinking abounds!

Did ya ever go to a dog park that had an area for little foo-foo dogs that are too fragile to run and play with other dogs? They just kinda waddle around, and poop and pee, and sniff each others butts. I’m thinking this little soiree is gonna resemble that. They oughta pick out the best trees in Lincoln Park, and grind em up for hog fuel in honor of the Governor’s visit.

LOL! Yes, the air pollution is so bad that the Chinese government is considering a mandatory 50% reduction in vehicle use!

Makes sense, doesn't it? Ya make deals for huge supplies of oil, and then find out the pollution that results from it is so bad that ya hafta restrict the use of the stuff!

Sounds like Port Angeles and that brain dead CSO project.

Seems like Inslee is being pretty hypocritical on the issue of climate change. News reports have him pledging this week to northwest governors and Canadian officials to cooperate in reducing CO2 emissions. Then next week he celebrates the start-up of a biomass burning plant that will emit tons more CO2.

"Seems like Inslee is being pretty hypocritical on the issue of climate change. News reports have him pledging this week to northwest governors and Canadian officials to cooperate in reducing CO2 emissions."

Who is kidding who? Washington is holding hearings on increasing the size and capacity of the coal shipping facilities, while Canada is running all over the world pushing it's pipelines and Tar Sands "dirty oil", trying to increase it's capacity, production and sales of as much oil as it can.

Brazil just signed contracts to develop the huge oil fields off its' coast earlier this week, while China is exploring how to develop the huge gas fields it has.

The US has been busy for years invading various oil rich countries and installing favourable puppet regimes so that now oil is its' number one EXPORT.

Around the world, most any country with fossil fuel resources (and there are a lot of them) are busily developing them.

" ..reduce CO2 emmissions.."? Sure. Sounds good, but the reality is obviously very different.
