Clint Didier discussed U.N. Agenda 21 at a meeting of Concerned Citizens of Clallam County in Sequim yesterday.  About 200 people attended.

The reality is that Clallam County has a lot of supporters of this point of view. Didiers' comments are not that different from those Sue Forde campaigned with, when she ran against Steve Tharinger. And, she almost won the seat.

Paranoia generated by the John Birch Society to sell their books. That tells you all you need to know.

As for FourC being a non-partisan group...I guess that means they accept far-right right-wingers and rabid-right right-wingers. No partisanship there!

Yes, she ALMOST won. A lot of bad people have ALMOST won here.

But they don't win here - more realistic, moderate candidates tend to do well in the cities and even in the county here. We just need to make sure we turn out to vote, turn out to meetings, and keep moving the ball forward.

And let the Pilings and the Fordes and the Didiers keep trying to move us all backwards.

that the U.N. is a threat to individual liberties and the U.S. Constitution.

The Constitution is just a piece of paper Americans defend, when it suits them too.

And it's flawed, the forefathers knew that.

I'd move us back to 1956, the Ford Victoria was a good looking car that year.

Hey WTF?...I took your suggestion and actually looked at the FourC website. And yeah, it's like wandering into the middle of Kaj Ahlburg's wet dream. The UN is coming to get you! The UN is coming to get you! BOO!!! AIIEEEE!!!!

Sheesh! These old-timers (for I saw only senior citizens acting up about "Agenda 21" at the last County Commissioner's meeting) are obviously terrified of change. But, as many have observed, the only constant in life is change. Therefore, these folks are likely to be scared 'til the day they die. And until that final day comes, the John Birch Society will be only all too happy to exploit that fear.

How sad for everyone involved.

What I find troubling is the stuff these folks say is SO wacky, yet so many people seem to believe it.

Then I read stats that say almost half of Americans believe the world was created in 7 days.

Different topic, but related in the context of a different view of what's possible.

Saw this on a TV show last night.

http://www.freesolarpowerontario.com/

Free panels, installed for free (hear: employing people), home owners and business owners being paid for the excess power they don't use. The TV clip showed a whole neighborhood of modern houses with big panel set ups.

Here, we gets 60 year old fear campaigns!

nah, our power panel companies get tons of money from O and then spend it as fast as they can and go bankrupt.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solyndra

You know our government: $535 million loan to Solyndra. On 31 August 2011 Solyndra announced it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, laying off 1100 employees, and shutting down all operations and manufacturing, while providing no severance for the fired employees, or even providing back due vacation day credit. And, the "factory" built: $733 million, including proceeds from a $528 million federal loan guarantee, it covered 300,000 square feet, the equivalent of five football fields. It had robots that whistled Disney tunes, spa-like showers with liquid-crystal displays of the water temperature, and glass-walled conference rooms.

The problem with foreigners is they're just plain foreign. Now you take their names for instance. Boutrous-Boutros Golly and this Banky Moon. Whoever heard of having two first names? And Banky Moon well, what the hell is that? And that's just for starters.

Then there's the queer way they speak English, that's if they can be bothered to speak it at all. I guess I'd rather them babble in their own gibber jabber than make the English language ruined with their crazy speaking of it. Still, in America we speak English. Learn it or go back and talk with your goat! ha ha!

Then there's this One World Government they always want to foist on us. I say let the foreigner have his One World Government and leave us out of it. I guess they never heard that in America we don't government, no not much we don't! Hell, we don't even like the government we got here let alone some United nations lead One World Government.

I figure its time, if there's to be a One World Government, that the good old US of A ran it and got these foreign types all sorted out. If the good old US of A ran a One World Government I'd say it was fine and dandy, but not these foreign types, no sir.

Now leave Israel alone. They are our first line of defense against the terriers, so leave Israel alone and let's invade this Iran and Syriious and keep that Sawdy oil flowing like it ought to be.

Drive a Preeus? You One anti-American One World Gov't loving Commie French wine drinking sushi eating traitor!

Fine with me if terriers take over the United States. They'd do a damn sight better job than any of the yahoos running for office next term.

It's hilarious that Didier uses the "come out of the closet" metaphor, considering what the right thinks of gays. How can anyone praise personal liberty in one breath and condemn what consenting adults do in their bedrooms with the other? Guess personal liberty isn't as important as conformity.

As was said before, these guys like to talk about personal freedom, until you do, think, say or propose anything THEY disagree with.

We hear from the Republicans about how taxes are driving business away, and we need to lower taxes on business. Consider this, exerpts from the NYTimes article earlier this year:

"General Electric, the nation’s largest corporation, had a very good year in 2010.

The company reported worldwide profits of $14.2 billion, and said $5.1 billion of the total came from its operations in the United States.

Its American tax bill? None. In fact, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.

A review of company filings and Congressional records shows that one of the most striking advantages of General Electric is its ability to lobby for, win and take advantage of tax breaks.

Over the last decade, G.E. has spent tens of millions of dollars to push for changes in tax law..... But the most lucrative of these measures allows G.E. to operate a vast leasing and lending business abroad with profits that face little foreign taxes and no American taxes as long as the money remains overseas.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/business/economy/25tax.html?pagewanted=all "

Yes, let's give the corporations more tax cuts. Obviously they need them.

the problem with "trickle down" economic theory is that what is trickling down is from corporate bladders.
