Meeting to Discuss the ICLEI

According to a letter in yesterday's PDN, there will be a meeting next Monday, 9/26 at 6 p.m. at the Sequim Boys and Girls Club. This meeting will be a discussion of whether the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) actually consists of local governments throughout the world working together to promote biodiversity and environmental sustainability — as the group's website states — or whether it's a horrifying stealth plan to have jackbooted U.N. thugs come storming into American citizens' homes to steal their property rights and destroy their freedom.

Should be an interesting meeting.

I'm not worried. We already have jack booted paramilitary border patrol here. If anyone else wants to repress us, they'll have to stand in line.

Oh, yeah. Let's make sure any attempts for energy conservation are quashed, RIGHT NOW!

This is AMERICA! We will not allow any group to come here and advise us on how we might use energy more conservatively! We are conservatives!

What a commie plot.

Randall is obviously an illegal, he's brown nosing just to throw off suspicion. I'm calling the border patrol to report him. After several thorough body cavity searchs, he'll be deported to some third world cesspool.

This is all being amped as up as part of Jim McEntire's campaign.

Not that he needs the help, being that Linda Barnfather (Who???) has been missing in action in terms of visibilty.

No you can't, I don't recall even seeing high lift jacks in there. But I got a statement from them today, I'll pay it up in a few days, their interest rates are way to high make payments on your balance.

They have never made a cent of interest on me, not even when I bought my wood splitter, this makes me happy.

With the way the world economy is headed, you are right to be looking for a place to hide.

Hard times ahead.

Wasn't that predicted here, a while back?

Yes, the End of It All is predicted every year, for centuries on back. And it's still being predicted this year. Go figure.

No kidding. Clearly no reason for any concern now, tho.

I didn't say that. Concern is fine. We need concern, evaluation and solutions. What we don't need, and what we're getting is mindless, hysterical defeatism paralyzing every level of public and private life. That strikes me as idiotic.

Well then, why are you posting here?

Just jerking your chain.

With the debt crisis more or less world wide now, with countries and their citizens loaded with debt and unable to fund kids school lunches, much less any meaningful investments, what kinds of solutions would you suggest?

What are you going to do when the government of Greece defaults?

Don't think it will affect us here?
