Cherie Kidd's Re-Election NOT Guaranteed

If you want Cherie Kidd to be re-elected to the City Council, be sure to vote for her.  The fact that her only opponent, Cody Blevins, has dropped out of the race does NOT guarantee anything.

According to a letter in yesterday's PDN:  "Despite candidate Cody Blevins' stated withdrawal, it was not done within the legally required 10-day limit."  Therefore, all votes for Cody Blevins must legally be counted.

There's a danger that voters who want Cherie Kidd on the City Council won't bother to vote for her since, after all, she doesn't have an opponent.  I don't know what will happen if Cody Blevins, who's no longer running, gets more votes than Cherie Kidd.

That would explain why she's still out there campaigning.

Don't know for sure, but what I understand if Cody won the position would be offered to him. If he turned it down the council would start an interview process and select a replacement themselves. Or they'd go behind closed doors and give Richard Hendricks the job. One or the other.

Absolutely - Vote for Cherie and avoid a dirty tricks election-stealing scenario by Pilling & his cronies. I wouldn't put it past Pilling, Rogers, Williams and their ilk to be mounting a stealth campaign to get people to vote for Blevins in order to un-seat Cherie. Don't let them get away with it!

Vote for Cody, Cherie Kidd has the mental aptitude of a 10 year old.

I didn't know this. I'll be voting for Cody in order to avoid a Kidd/Mania regime!

Yeah, I also tend to see this as an actual "plan" hatched by Dick Piling and his none-too-clever crew. They knew that Cody didn't stand a chance in a fair election, so they came up with this ploy to try and rig it. (And of course, they didn't run anyone against DiGuilio or Perry because they're in with the same crowd.)

As for the comment, "Vote for Cody, Cherie Kidd has the mental aptitude of a 10 year old." Well, if Cherie is 10 years old, then Cody is about 4. I've never seen him out in public when he wasn't clearly "not up to snuff." Check it out: His name on MyLife is "Captin Redeye." Yes, he does misspell "Captain," but he gives us a big hint into one of his hobbies with the "Redeye" part. He would be a nightmare on the Council - and, if he were to "win" this way, he would have even less credibility than he does now, which is saying something.

The last thing we need is another puppet councilmember run from behind the scenes by the Big Three: Ed Chadd, Darlene Schanfald and Norma Turner.

These folks already got one phony elected, Max Mania, and now they're running Sissi Bruch. Who urged her to run? Max Mania. Guess where Sissi works - in the same department as Mania's wife.

Keep the city council independent and free from the influence of the un-elected Big Three. Vote for Don Perry!

Kidd is a very likable and talented woman, so I'm confused why she would be a damn politician. Oh, right, thinks she can change and improve things. Not the way folitics are these days.

I'm sure she'll get enough votes to stay there, but what the hell do I know.

Anon 3:29 ---- You post as if you know all about running puppet council members from behind the scenes. So - you are either Larry or Karen, or know them well enough to know their bullying tactics. My guess is that you are Larry, because of the hint of woman-hating that seeps through.
By the way - Mania's wife works for the county. Candidate Bruch works for the Lower Elwha Tribe. But even if the two of them worked for the same employer, how is that fact relevant to anything?
Might you just be a bit afraid that if Bruch wins, it will mean that puppet Perry will be gone?

Yes! Because Don Perry is only influenced by one un-elected Big Bully. Yes, vote for Don Perry, so Karen Rogers will still have a voice (however faint) in Port Angeles politics!

Oh, this from the bright mind of the Conservative Right in Port Angeles.

Don Perry has demonstrated he has no mind of his own, and all he does is what staff tells him to do.

"Independent"? Of what? He has shown he has no opinion other that which staff tells him say.

"Conservative"? His votes have obligated the people to millions in debt, on stupid projects that only benefit the culture of consultants that Karen Rogers et al brought to Port Angeles.

Port Angeles is SO far worse since Don Perry was elected.

No it isn't, Capitalist. The sun shines brightly on Port Angeles thanks to Randall C. Page and his endlessly cheery, perpetually positive outlook on life here in Port Angeles!

Just because you're a downer doesn't mean we all are!

Oh, generally speaking, the monkeys are cheerful enough considering how things are here.

And the rich love it here cuz of the cheaper wages they pay, also cuz they can go other places when they get sick and tired of the rain.

I think you meant to say:

"Just because Port Angeles is such a downer doesn't mean that Randall C. Page is."
