New Saltwater Patrol Vessel for County Sheriff's Office

The Clallam County Sheriff's Office marine unit has added a 26-foot Protector for patrolling the Strait and the parts of the Pacific that border Clallam County.  The marine unit works closely with the Border Patrol, Coast Guard and state Fish and Wildlife department.

The boat was built by Lee Shore Boats of Port Angeles.  A lot of other local businesses took part in the building and designing of the boat.  Sheriff’s Deputy Ralph Edgington said:

“A lot of local merchants took part on this.”

And, it came in under budget, no cost over-runs, and on time. Right?

They checked me out last year just west of the mill off of Angeles Point.

Asked me how the fishing was, "Not worth a damn but I don't know what in the hell I'm doing."

They checked my boat and safety gear and all that but never asked to see my fishing license, maybe they figured that if you're too damn stupid to catch fish around here it doesn't matter if you have one or not.

Funny how they can design and build custom boats with locals but not buildings.

Funny how the city can spend $4 million with Brown and Caldwell on the tank of crap on the Rayonier site, and workin' on spending $40 million, and nobody in this town seems to care.

Let's rant on about the coffee drinkers, and the $2.4 million county deficit. $40 million is nothing, these days. We got tons of bucks to blow!
