Online Video Channel for Olympic Peninsula

Summit to Sea Media LLC has soft-launched an online all-video news channel:  videOly.tv.

The site is co-owned by Jeff Chew, formerly of the PDN, and Creative Director Dana Hogenson.  Jeff Chew said:

“We will focus our video cameras on the people, places and things unique to the Olympic Peninsula.  We reach out to the crowd, our audience, encouraging those on the Olympic Peninsula with video-capable smartphones, digital tablets and video cameras to shoot short clips of newsworthy events and breaking news, then email them to us in a timely fashion at info@videoly.tv to post on the channel.”

They ought to interview Bill Driscoll and let him tell everyone how pro-choice he is. Because in the voter pamphlet...care to guess what his position was a month ago?

Anyone know if Driscoll wants to gut FEMA and send it back to the states like Romney?

That is a GIANT target for the teaparty and Ryan and during a CNN debate at least Romney was for gutting it. But can't find any info on what Driscoll thinks.

Considering how badly FEMA handled Katrina, how inept and burdened with cronyism they are, maybe gutting FEMA wouldn't be such a bad idea? Do away with it and start something new that can actually get the job done.

Sounds like the youtube channel I created for Port Angeles. I spend an hour a month maintaining it and with hardly any effort it gets tons of traffic, about 1,000 visits a day, and has great discussions. Only thing is, and this is what sets it apart and encourages people to submit relevant content, I don't sell ads or opt into the youtube revenue sharing program. The content is great, and since people can post "reply" videos, there is tons to watch. Great resource for tourists, and they post videos too and ask questions nearly every day. If anyone wants to check it out, the channel is called WHO THE FUCK CARES. ;)

Newsflash for the new news channel: Senator Maria Cantwell came to Port Angeles today to dispel any notions that she might be an inspiring speaker. Platitudes were plentiful, but was about it. And on to the next campaign stop! Thanks for coming!

More local news of note that you'll never see in the PDN...Clallam County is getting rid of their anti-bullying policy. Yep. Despite the fact that Sheila Miller is almost literally causing heads to roll, and who knows how many lawsuits to be born, with her unprofessional and, yes, bullying ways, the County is moving ahead with plans to axe the policy. Expect her ideological comrade, Rich Sill, the new head of HR, to go along with this cover-up enabling move.

Once again, Clallam County boldly goes backwards, ignoring reality at all costs. But there will be costs, or should I say, costly payouts? Abused workers of Clallam County, get your lawyers on speed dial now! And taxpayers, get ready to pay for it all...

In this day and age, who is getting rid of their anti-bullying policies? This is one of those issues that is becoming MORE of a recognized social problem, not less of one. I would love to hear why the County thinks this is a smart thing to do. Barring that, I'd just plain like to hear why they're doing it at all.
