Port Angeles School Board Might Sell Aging Schools

It might be time to replace four of Port Angeles' oldest schoolsPort Angeles High School, Stevens Middle School and Hamilton and Franklin elementary schools.  These buildings are between 52 and 59 years old, and bringing them up to current seismic and ADA standards would cost almost as much as replacing them.

The school district might also sell some of its surplus property.

And, the properties will sell like hot cakes.

Just like the Pen-Ply site will become the prime real estate of Port Angeles, and there will be bounty and wealth for all.

Here is an opportunity for the school district to partner with civic groups and use the site of Franklin Elementary School to build a new auditorium/performing arts center. One of the finest things about the Port Angeles School System is its emphasis on music education; and one of the finer things about the Sequim - Port Angeles region is a keen interest in the performing arts. Build a fine new auditorium to support these good things and bring on some positive energy!

We're too busy spending all of our money on multi-million dollar sidewalks and parks.

We can't afford a performing arts center, they don't make any money and we need to conserve for a while.

That poor kid just needs a whipping!

This town is SAD, and it SUCKS.

It takes a village and we are a village of idiots. Who needs schools? Sell the fucking schools. No one likes kids anyway here.

My kids haven't been adding anything useful to society, other than more destruction.

Here's a tip guys. If you want to do something to a woman that she doesn't want, better make sure you take precautions!

Like making sure your actions cause a new little bundle of meant-to-be JOY!

That will be proof to the teabaggers in the courts in PA that it was MEANT TO BE. And the right thing.

Just make sure you pay your child support, and join the PTA, if we still have schools at that time.

You could always bring some extra to make sure you get the job done right. Albertons's has turkey basters on sale right now.

Port Angeles - highest birthrate in the state.

Port Angeles - most sales of rope, per capita, in the state.

Rope - A fine alternative to a visit to the coat hanger factory. Save your own ass, and a life, at the same time!

I just hope they don't turn the buildings into libraries. I'm so dissapointed with the behavior at our libraries I can only imagine what goes on in our schools.

Every time I go in the library, there is some kid on Wikipedia switching the mushroom pictures around and I just don't think things like that should be done in public.

As Mitt Romneys' running mate, and possible future Vice President of the USA said, " I'm proud of my Pro-Life stance, the method of conception doesn't matter".

He thinks rape is Gods' will, too!

I wonder if these creeps would think the same if their wife or daughter was about to be raped.

"Go for it, guys, I can't stand in the way of Gods' will".

What a bunch of weirdos!

Still nothing, even after a tsunami warning was issued for Hawaii!

Glad to see the PDN prints the news that matters.
