New Public Works Director

Craig A. Fulton will be the replacement for Glenn Cutler.  He's been the facilities director for a Marine Corps base in North Carolina.  He will start as public works and utilities director on August 14th.

Great. Another ex-military guy, just like Cutler.

Sigh...

New Name, Same Game.

Even if this guy has good intentions, he will be "told how things are done around here", soon enough.

People come and go, but the policies and procedures remain.

The City Council missed a chance to break up the power base of the public works director. This one mega department head should not have authority over the utility departments as well as public works and wield authority over so much of the city budget.
The record of Cutler's reign should have demonstrated very well the perils of concentrating too much power and authority in one person.
The king is dead - long live the king.

"Sadly fungible"

What the fuck are you even talking about? "The record of Cutler's reign should have demonstrated very well the perils of concentrating too much power..."

Seriously, do you have anything to substantiate your assertion? It'd be great if you did, but otherwise you're just another part of the whining chorus of fucktards who can't accept that our community is evolving and you're not. We've had a few bad eggs come and go, I'll grant you that, but stop constantly trying to chase out any new talent that is attracted to our community before they even get here. Same goes for you, Anon. 8:45.

Cutler is moving on with his life, and you're so pathetic that you still have to try and get the last little jab in to shit on his efforts here. I can only hope you never chose to procreate, you moron.

Back in the good old days it wasn't new overpaid talent that ran this place and it did very well without them.

It was ran by a bunch of good old boys but not the kind of good old boys you have these days, they were local boys and your fucking neighbors and friends.

"...the last little jab in to shit on his efforts here."

Uh, actually, Glenn Cutler WANTS us to shit on his efforts. That's why he's saddled the residents of Port Angeles with a $40-50 million dollar crock of shit on our (supposedly) valuable waterfront. Cutler's prone to boasting about how it's "the biggest public works project in Port Angeles history." Of course, he doesn't have to pay for it, does he? He doesn't even live in the city. So, yeah, let's all have a final flush or two for Cutler's Crock of Shit.

4:08 PM -
You, dear soul, are the one who is pathetically out of touch with the vast majority of your neighbors who detest what Glenn Cutler has done to the community. I am touched, however, that he appears to have at least one person who wishes him well.

BBC - good one! ;)

4:08 - What PR firm did you hire to come up with that "youthful" language? Hint - it doesn't work. When teabaggers use the word "fuck" it just comes across as angry.

This city is great if you like Atlantic City 1947, but smaller. Very very lame. In ten years we will be tearing apart all the lame shit you and your buddies have been building since 1980 or so.

Anon 4:08 sez: "Seriously, do you have anything to substantiate your assertion? It'd be great if you did, but otherwise you're just another part of the whining chorus of fucktards who can't accept that our community is evolving and you're not."

Seriously?

Okay. Maybe I'm interpreting your concept of the community "evolving" to be in a positive context. That Port Angeles is in a *better* place, as a result of Glenn Cutlers' efforts here. Maybe that is where the confusion originates.

Somebody said something about "transparency". Like, as if that happens here, with our local government! "Open Government", here?

Anybody who has had ANY personal involvement with any controversial issue here knows this city is anything BUT "transparent"! And, the Public Works Dept. under Cutler has been among the worst.

Had hopes that things might get better with the new City Manager, but he has quickly fallen into the same bad behaviors as his predecessors.

Ahhhhh - more unsuspecting "imported talent" for Port Angeles. Why is somebody from out of state so doggone attractive when the track record for high paid managers with no PNW connection reveals that many of them (or at least their families) end up hating it here?
Case in point: Kent Myers.

The high paid jokers come here for only as long as it takes them to find other fools willing to pay them even more. They're just working their way up the food chain expecting wages they don't fugging deserve.

12:17 - Thank you. I was wondering who I was impersonating these days. A little boring around here, so I guess I'll have to do some research on the guy as a) don't really give a fuck b) his shenanigans have never really been "reported" on not having real "news" here c) I have not met the man d) If I have read any of the drivel about him there are those selective short term memory issues like most people my age. I doubt I'm anything like him, and will never aspire to his heights, can't even dream about such things anymore, but the idea is sort of exciting. So, thanks.

Speaking of impersonating, you should really stop trying to impersonate being a big picture type. No one buys it.

"Sadly Fungible" is just Max Mania posting his trollish posts to appease his ever-dwindling group of acolytes and foot washers.

At the moment these acolytes and foot washers are: Norma, Darlene and Dale.

Speaking of Dale, how's that law suit against the County coming along? And how many law suits did you and Dale file while you lived in Olympia, Max?

I've your taste for indulging in vexatious litigation has made to the ears of certain people who are researching this even now. Think you and Dale can pull another fast one or will the EEOC find out about your litigious fetish?

Again, thanks for your leadership, Max (and Dale, too)!

Funny how some people don't know the difference between a complaint and a lawsuit. Even people who use right big words like "vexatious."

Trolls never were so good with details, right Palsy?

Responding to 5:31 PM June 30 ----
Your viciousness toward Max Mania and his wife is, frankly, quite scary to contemplate. Why do you appear to loathe them so much? Who cares whether they have been involved in lawsuits in the past? Who knows whether that is true, but if it is, how is that relevant to the circumstances today?
Might it be possible that Dale and Max actually believe that state and federal constitutional rights apply to them as well as all of the rest of us, and if their constitutional rights are being unjustly denied, they have the right to redress from the courts?
Or, in your mind, are people of a minority ethnic background supposed to quietly suffer the indignities of unjust treatment?
Among other things, your post smacks of racism, sexism, and paranoia. Sad and scary to see it here.

"Bell's Paulsy: Some viruses are thought to establish a persistent (or latent) infection without symptoms...both of the herpes family. In some research the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) was identified in a majority of cases diagnosed as Bell's palsy. Studies suggest that this new activation could be preceded by trauma or emotional disorders.
In a few cases, bilateral facial palsy has been associated with acute HIV infection."

Back to the subject of the new public works director ---
I do think this will mean more of the same grandiose mindset and over-spending on dubious projects. Someone who has come up through the ranks of military contracting is accustomed to a culture of wasteful, unaccountable spending of taxpayer money. Beware of the military-industrial complex!
