Final Vote Count for Clallam County

[sigh]  It's official.  Sissi Bruch has lost.  Bill Peach will be “representing” us as a Clallam County Commissioner.  Mark Nichols will be the County Prosecuting Attorney.

Click here for a complete rundown on Clallam County's final election results.

One other closely contested race had a slightly better result:  Clint Didier (welfare recipient disguised as a self-reliant Bootstraps Libertarian) will NOT be the next congressman from Washington's 4th congressional district.  He lost (barely) to the somewhat more moderate Dan Newhouse.

So, what do elections really represent? In bigger races, the topics were made to be about Ebola and ISIL. As if those really are significant threats to the average American. But, the spin miesters made it the topic of discussion.

Because topics created by campaign strategists are designed to stratify the electorate, we see election results that mirror the black -or-white rhetoric used.

Here, we heard about the horrors of having 3 Republicans as County Commissioners. Really, how much influence was 1 Democrat going to have against 2 determined-to-destroy-the-land Republicans? And, how much do these politicians actually do?

From what I see, they can barely get the streets paved.

Personally, I like Sissi, and it would have been better to have her voice on the Commission. But, the people have spoken. They were offered different visions of what Clallam could be, and made a choice.

Those of us that are concerned about demonstrably sustainable future for our children and theirs have a couple choices. One is to move to a more like minded community that embodies the values we hold. The active majority here obviously view things differently.

Or, stay and hope things change in a direction that we can support. Stay, and work with others to help things change, as others have.

Too bad Sissi can't sue someone for sexual discrimination and beat it out of town with the boodle as another Commission loser did a few years ago.

4:13, forget it, there's no similarity between Sissi Bruch and the other person you're talking about that lost that same race 2 years ago.

I can see why some are so happy that Sissi lost.

Things are going SO well in Clallam, why change?

Let's just resist the inevitable, and pretend we can turn back the clock, like cowards.

I still wanna move to the hill country of central Texas. Very quite and peaceful there and not a lot of asshole officials wanting you to buy permits and telling you how you have to do everything.

The folks I went to meet didn't even need a permit to build their home.
