Port Angeles May Purchase Rayonier Tank

The City Council's meeting this Tuesday will deal with the proposed $995,000 purchase of the tank. The Council will go into executive session at 5 p.m., and hold their regular meeting at 6, when they'll decide whether to ratify the agreement.

I'm not clear on all the implications of that, for example, why would they have to buy so much of the acreage? That tank isn't taking almost 12 acres.

Could they build a new one for less than a million bucks? Hell, in these parts they think 12 acres of waterfront property is worth more than a million bucks without a tank on it.

And I have no idea what condition the tank is worth or what condition it is in, or how much it would cost to build a new tank at today's prices.

That boils down to the fact that there sure is a lot of shit I don't know about this.

Billy comes as advertised- hell there's even a picture.

And if you right click on the BBC (in blue) or the picture, and select to open in a new window it will take you to my profile and links to my blogs. The most active one being Spirits Doings.

I'm crazy but so are the rest of you, the difference is that I put it all out there while a lot of you pussies hide behind assumed names.

This whole project is a lot like the others. Too much money spent to do something. The primary beneficiaries are Excelteck, and the usual suspects.

I know more about this than I can talk here about.

I also wonder how much will have to be spent to tie it all together into the system.

Whatever the price tag, let's be sure to add 1.5 million from the Harborworks fiasco. While we’re at it, we need to keep in mind that there’s a ton of native graves in the vicinity, no doubt waiting to be uncovered as they lay pipe for this project. Remember the Graving Yard? Apparently the city doesn’t.

I went down there this morning to refresh my memory, that didn’t help much over than reinforce my opinion that they’ll screw it up and waste a lot of money while doing it.

But I got another great idea for a fundraiser. Cut the tops out of those two smaller tanks and fill them full of the most contaminated dirt on the site and add just enough water to make nice mud baths. And use them for dunk tanks, just add politicians and local leaders and their good old boy club cronies and charge a buck a toss. Five bucks a shot if you want to use a shotgun to hit the clapper with.

Lets have some fucking fun!!!

So is the big tank east of ennis creek. But if the tank is just going to be used without disturbing a lot of things under it that should not be of any concern too the natives.

Actually, I think they just need to get over themselves and their silly old belief that the spirits hang out in old bones. What nonsense, old bones has to be about the most boring place to hang out I can think of.

You might try using your own screen name there, dipshit.

The majority of graves are east of ennis, but after the small pox epedemic, we can't be sure until the digging starts. I've heard from oldtimers that bones and artifacts were uncovered during construction of the mill, as well as during various projects and additions after.

There's two WTF's??? Or three or four?

This bullshit is why I don't allow comments on my blogs unless you are real.

I'm real and in your face, why don't you idiots try being the same? And then we can go enjoy a campfire together and bullshit about other things being as we can't fix any of this crap anyway.

We can say "shit" on this blog?

Sweet.

From what I understood, they suspect the bones will mostly be under the parking lot. But the village moved around lots over the centuries and no one's sure what we might find elsewhere.

PS: Shit.

"The majority of graves are east of ennis, but after the small pox epedemic, we can't be sure until the digging starts."

This is SUCH a silly rationale, first put out by the supporters of the HarborWorks development proposals.

First, as we ALL saw during the archaeological investigations at the Graving Dock site, the natives have been living in these ancient villages for over 2,700 years. Maybe longer. So, NO ONE knows what is under the ground there, other than the Y'Innis site was one of the largest inhabited areas in the region.

Even Europeans recorded a long house celebration there that housed over 1,000 participants!

Who knows who was buried where over the last 2,700 years or more?

Second, we also remember the Elwha Chairwoman, Frances Charles saying "We will not allow our ancestors to be entombed under concrete." during the Graving Dock travesties.

And, that concern was respected.

Now it is different?? Some ancestors CAN be entombed under concrete?

Or, has our respect faded?

Because of what?

Geeze, Billy, why wait? Let's toss yer old bones in the Bay this afternoon.

What the hell are you talking about?
People use pseudonyms on your blog all the time…

It's All speculation regarding the native remains at the site. Again, remember the Graving Yard, where they had a real live scientist tell 'em its all good, and then started finding graves the first week.

Too funny.Hey, stop being so funny, just knock that shit off, we're talking about serious shit here.

In a sense you are correct, but they all have profiles at Blog Spot (if not blogs) where you can learn more about most of them.

And I know other things about most of them because most of us also exchange emails, in other words I know them as real people not hiding behind curtains.

Harry lives off the old highway and we kick around together at times.

Zirelda lives in Colorado and her name is Jody, and she gets me. Etc, etc, etc.

PS... Shit.

I'll tell you what, when I die feel free to toss my old bones on a pile of firewood on the beach at low tide and do happy naked pagan dancing around me while I fry.

I have no desire to keep taking up space here after I die, this planet is for the living.

We know where Max stands on this tank purchase issue (thank you, Max!), but we need to keep a sharp eye on Cherie Kidd and Dan DiGuilio as they are not trustworthy.

Cherie and Dan: we'll be watching you this Tuesday and your action will be the key to your re-election next year!
