Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Port Angeles

City Hall says a proposed medical marijuana dispensary is in compliance with state and municipal laws. City Manager Kent Myers said:

“All we're saying is . . . it meets regulations. It's not to say that we've endorsed it.”

Richard Pharr of Port Angeles says he will apply for a building occupancy permit this week and hopes to have the Olympian Canna dispensary up and running next month.

The location isn’t being made public. Clients will need to make appointments by phone.

*waits patiently for all the small government, tea party, don't tell me where to smoke types to start screaming bloody murder about how this is wrong and how SOMEONE (ie, the government) needs to DO SOMETHING (ie, regulate what people put in their bodies)*

I figured that you would have something to say about that, I addressed it in my comments this morning.

Bottom line, I approve and by the looks of the survey online at the PDN so do many others.

Did you just get off the bus? You think that cops and lawyers and judges don't use it?

Oh yeah, it's just gonna go to those who suffer "pain" (rolls eyeballs)

Rolls eyeball at you.

If it was legal the police could care less about it. As for those that abuse it, fuck them, they are on their own, it's not up to the taxpayers to support them.

Years ago you bought it in drug stores you know.

Until a bunch of fucked up christians that couldn't handle it decided to make it illegal because they couldn't handle it.

Remember now, if you run into your christian neighbor in the liquor store that you are not to mention church on Sunday.

What about the article in Fridays' PDN about PDN staffer Paul Gottlieb (AKA "Goat-like" as spellcheck wants him known as!) hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk with his car!

The article is really sad, as it tries to minimize references to its' cohort Gottlieb. Look at the photo. No mention, although it is OF Gottliebs' own car. The headline? Nope. The first paragraph of the story, which is supposed to tell the reader who, what, where, when? Nope.

And, to top it all off, the article says Gottlieb is likely NOT to get a ticket for hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Hunh?? I thought pedestrians ALWAYS had the right-of-way, no matter what.

But, instead, the pedestrian is said to face charges for wearing dark clothing?!?!

I didn't realize there were situations where it is okay to drive your car into pedestrians in crosswalks.

Except, in Port Angeles.

Can we expect another "personal column" from Paul, like we did after he got busted for drunk driving a few years ago? OH, probably not, as he has not been charged with an offense.

Geezz. Watch yourselves out there.

Paul Gottlieb is a nasty, twisted piece of work. He's a really malignant force at the PDN. In addition to his well known public "mistakes," there have been a number of internal (literally in some cases) lapses in judgement as well - some involving employees he was supervising. (I doubt Tom would let me post the details here, so...)

While I think the PDN is a pretty weak little paper, it would certainly take a giant leap forward in quality if Gottlieb was gone. No more questionable activites, no more hour-long phone calls harrassing people over letters to the editor, no more double standards, etc.

But John Brewer doesn't seem to care. Which raises the question of what Gottlieb has on him? I mean, the fear of blackmail is the only reason I can think of to keep this loser on staff.

I have a few aches and pains but they are not so bad that I can’t deal with them. However, if I could get a card that would allow me to grow some plants here, that I don’t need. As I understand it I could legally provide the outlet with my crop for a little extra income. Hum…

BTW, those with medical cards generally don’t have enough money to abuse the use of pot, it’s those with plenty of money to spend and no card that tend to abuse it. Or the low lifes that are always stealing things from others to sell or pawn, plenty of that going on around here.

don't care what people put inside themselves, but observe the "no smoking" laws about 20 feet from an entrance to a building, and not inside one, etc.
Pot stinks, and it makes most people stupid and emotionally stunted.
Don't care if its legalized, just don't make me hang out with them.

In terms of drug abuse, there really is no such thing as "abusing" marijuana. This isn't heroin. The main objection from law enforcement will be the loss of revenue. Think of the ridiculous OPnet: these bunglers couldn’t catch a cold, and without the revenue and attention they receive from harassing pot smokers, they would simply dry up and blow away.

No shit? Hell, I visit a few places (cuz I get around a lot) where they whip out their bags and pipes right in plain sight so I guess the pot cops must be taking naps?

Not that I'm complaining, don't use it but I like the smell of it.

I'm going camping in the morning, carry on.
