Open Discussion at This Tuesday's PABA meeting

At this Tuesday's meeting of the Port Angeles Business Association, there will be an open discussion of topics “with an eye to future political issues facing our area that PABA may want to take a position on.”

I hear there might be a seminar on how to wash out one's panties.

But it might be cancelled, because they can't find someone to present a topic to the women business owners.

They can turn anything into a political position.

I never get invited to be a quest speaker.... Sigh.

With Max out of the picture, we can study which log downtown will be the next to be moved, and help rid this town of it's youth problem. Back to business!

Why are you always posting about PABA meetings, Tom? Do you get a kickback or something?

Maybe the PABA would be interested in this:

" In February of this year, news broke that Treasury Secretary Jack Lew received an exit package worth over $1 million from Citigroup shortly before joining the Obama administration in 2009.Lew’s contract with Citigroup made explicitly clear that the banker’s eligibility for a special bonus was contingent on his securing a “full time high level position with the U.S. government or regulatory body.” "

Anon. 7:14 p.m.: LOL. Nope, no kickbacks or anything. Their meetings and guest speakers are often focused on important local issues, the kind of issues that people tend to discuss and argue about.

Anon 7:40

Kick 'em all out again and again until they start to respect their constituents again instead of their corporate masters.

Tired of the new boss being the same as the old boss...

I don't know if this guy Wheatham is a Huey Long on steroids with a resume or not, but I need to feel it soon. Come on, Port Angeles, lets at least try to feel it.

Changing the subject but still on the subject of local vibes. Don't think I've ever seen a more depressing editon of the paper. Everything is always just one way or the other. Yur fer me er yer ageenst me. Vomit.

I find it pretty disappointing that there will be three uncontested seats on the city council this time around. If I had known it would turn out this way then I would have filed just so people had a way to vote against the other candidates.

I'm not sure it matters anymore, we haven't had much to say about how things are ran for years.

I've learned, that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are politicians.

Max Mania was the only hope this town had for real leadership. Everyone else on that council is a fool or a tool. His choosing not to run again is a bad, bad omen for this town. Thanks so fucking much Tom for providing a forum to run him down, and out. Either move away, or vote Ripley. Port Angeles is fucking doomed.

retard @8:58 pm -- look around, dildo, half the comments at this blog are either Max Mania or one of his imaginary friends (he doesn't have any real ones) trashing everybody and everything Max hates.

Yes it's a forum and Maxie has made shrewder use of it than anyone.

Speaking of morons, Anon 12:57 AM

Do you have one shred of evidence, other than the posts of the stupid troll that has hijacked virtually every thread on this forum for months now, that Max actually EVER posted a comment on this forum?

Once again, stupid is as stupid does.

Anon 8:58 makes a very valid point. You know a community is in real trouble when the candidate field is as what Port Angeles residents are being offered.

Why worry about future of Port Angeles, when we have idiots that have nothing better to do than to post baseless nonsense, endlessly.

Who needs facts, or even reality? Just say bullshit over and over, and hope it is believed by enough people.

Really pathetic.

Yes, by all means, Max Mania "made better use" of this blog than anyone, by pretending to be the troll that is obsessed with [and clearly jealous of] Max Mania, and constantly running himself down. THIS is your cover, troll fool? To try and pass YOUR comments off as having been made by Mania? File under DUH.

No, troll, those with even half a brain know you are much more likely to be named Matthew, or Paul, or possibly Dick. Max had better things to do than run himself down here for...What was that reason again, troll? Your jealousy has clearly clouded your limited ability to think straight. Your agenda has been obvious from the start. Max is a good man, and was a great city council member. Fuck you and fuck Tom for spending so much time running down someone who was serving his community so well. Now we are ALL fucked. Peter Ripley or a righting nut job plumber? GREAT choice...

Maybe they can discuss how to get edna peterson back the 400,000 dollars she lost during construction of the sidewalks. What a crock of shit. Does anyone believe she really lost that much? The road wasn't even closed in front of her store. Id be real surprised if she sold that much in a year at that shithole store.

@ 10:24 AM, I don't recall Tom running anyone down all that much, he just puts up subjects to be discussed, cussed, and kicked around.

I wouldn't call Edna's store a shit hole but everything is so over priced that only fools would shop there.

Mania was the only, and I do mean ONLY, member of the City Council who was dependably supportive of the environment, AND a true fiscal conservative. The rest of them (except maybe Bruch) like to spend and pave like there's no tomorrow.

Which there might not be, thanks to their spendthrift, stupid ways. And I guarantee this guy Wheatham will spend and pave as much as the rest, despite his making noises to the contrary. The next City Council (with soon to be Mayor Downie) will be a real throwback to the "good" old days of Karen Rogers.

Happy "voting" everyone! So many choices, right?

Apparently Dale is suing the County for discrimination. I guess because she lost last summer. I mean, that's what the Most Qualified Candidate does, right? Throw a conniption fit and file a sour grapes suit against the entire County.

Good luck in Bhutan, Dale 'n Max!

I'm pretty skeptical of Whetham since he only worked as a union plumber for a few years before going to work for an industry trade group. He also claims to want more locals working on construction projects but doesn't seem to understand that those projects have to be bid out and the city is legally obligated to take the low bidder, even if it's from a non-local company.
